My car was drilled by the dealer, before I had a say in the matter. See pic. I've had it 6 months.

What can I do to fix the holes? If anything. Thought about filling with some kind of apoxy filler then restripping the 2 small pieces. Which brings up another question. Can you get sections of stripping without getting the whole kit. And do I have a chance going back to the dealer for some help in this matter.

Someone posted here a while back an aftermarket patch kit for bumper holes. Doesn't fill the holes but covers them up. IIRC the website was for many makes & models.

Anyone else recall this?

Most any bodyshop can fill the holes for you, for a long term patch. Yes, you can purchase the stripes in sections. I doubt the dealer will give you any type of warranty /free fix for this, but you never know unless you ask!

I'd give the dealer a go. IMO, they ought to fix it. It looks terrible and there are other options for mounting a front plate that don't include tearing into the bumper cover.
Good luck!

When I had my hood scoop replacement done at Tasca, I had them patch the holes and replace the front bumper stripes. At that time, you could order only the bumper stripes from Shelby Performance Parts. Give them a call.

GRABBER found some plastic push pin plugs, painted them in the proper color and they blended in very well. You can find these at most auto parts stores and the touchup paint from your favorite Ford dealer. <<LINK>>

Jerseygator you can do it the way Grabber did or you can take it to your dealers autobody shop and have them do it. Call your dealer where you bought the car and talk to the salesman that got the car for you about what you want to do. Ask him what bodyshop they use for the mods and bodywork, when you get that go there and talk to them about what you want to do. They will tell you how much and how long it will take. I made sure I was there when my car came in and told the not to finish drilling out the front for the plate. There is indentions in the bumper to show them where to drill for the plates. I had them fill mine when I had them paint the stripes on are Mustang. What grabber did is a awesome idea and it worked good it just deppends on what you want.

This is great! I haven't been back in a month. Went to my dealer and they are going to sand it and fill it. Said it would cost $550 including labor. Body shop and new stripping. They asked me to cover $185. I think it is fair. Yes? No?

One shop wanted to take the bumper off. The other said it could be done left on. Opinions...
I noticed pic 1 it is on for fill and sanding, but off for pic 2 stripping.

Just for discussion sake, I would get a second independent quote. The $550 sounds a little high. The $185 probably at the very least, covers their hard cost! Just my $.02.

$185 sounds reasonable to me.

Yes. I thought so too, but it's the Ford dealers body shop, from which I bought the car. Want to build a relationship.

And this is New Jersey. One of, if not THE most expensive state in the country to live in.

Thanks for the feed back!

I have the same problem, and I took it to my local body shop and they are going to fill the holes and replace the stripes for $150. Well worth it in my opinion.

550 that does sound a little high. How many hrs did they say it would take. What is the shop rate there. Ask them what the shop rate is.Call back again and talk to the gentleman that gave you the quote.Did he give you the quote on paper that you have. What about the stripe are you getting that or are they. Is it a matt black or a gloss black and how wide is the stripe. Have you had it done yet. If so GET some pictures up.
