A visitor here, ladies and gents, from the SGT forums.

I'm looking for any feedback from any Mustang owner who might have had the Raceskinz/Shelby PP rear seat delete kit installed, since I'm seriously considering it myself.

I know the pricing is high - we pretty much thrashed and hashed that to pieces on the SGT boards months ago. But that aside, I'm curious to know from anyone who has one what they think about it, who installed it and what their level of satisfaction may be.

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks.

Haven't installed one, but I've seen a few in person. Very sweet looking setup, that's for sure. :happy feet:

I was just out at Drake in Vegas trying to get a peak at one. They didn't have one there. I left my
email with them and they were going to get me pics, but I haven't seen any except for the one in the
catalog. Too bad, cuz I want to buy one, but for that money, I need to see more evidence that it is
worth it. More pics please!!!!

Mike

Exactly my experience with SPP, Mike. I am seriously interested, but the big bucks certainly demand more info first and none was forthcoming when I inquired there.

I happened to be up in RI last week and stopped by Tasca Ford hoping catch an install there by chance, but no such luck.

Thanks for the replies, though.

What is the cost and does it save a ton of weight or something? The above pics look cool. I saw some cf backed race seats that had the CS on them as well. How much weight is saved etc there and cost? More pics from spp are needed for sure.

I'm sure weight savings is not the objective! The rear seat is nothing more than foam alittle plastic and its cover, weights very little. Bill

not sure it saves any weight in the car, but it does save weight from your wallet :hysterical:

^ You're right Bill. When I installed the MMR kit, I weighed everything that I took out (seat, hardware, etc) and came up with a total of 26 lbs.
The MMR kit in total weighed 9 lbs. I'm certain that this SPP kit is more than 9 lbs and possibly more than 26 lbs! For the thousands of dollars that they're asking for this kit, I can't find a single benefit of installing one.

I think it has the all the same benefits as our hood scoops and quarter panel scoops, Ken...none! But it sure looks cool.

But seriously, neither Shelby nor RaceSkinz has ever marketed it as a weight-saver. And you're right - even the most basic Mustang delete kits save only a couple of pounds at best.

In addition to the coolness/bling factor, I'm most interested in the heritage link back to the 1965 GT-350s, where the '07/'08 SGTs have their DNA. I love that connection and am interested in enhancing it...but not at any price and surely not sight unseen.

As always, thanks for the input, gents; anybody runs across one, I'd love to hear about it

My rear seat consist of nothing. I just pull my seat and go race. Cost is very cheap and its easy to convert back. It only takes a few mins to remove or install your back seat.
