The roads were dry today and I actually got to spend about 2 hours just driving around. I am so glad this projecty worked out, but I will tell you stripes and the scoop replacement were a real pain.

I went ahead and completed my own warranty issues on lanyards, tribar pony, replaced the hood pins, and used the rivet method to reattach the hood.

Sorry the camera still makes the paint look slightly pink, but the stripes are Colorado red for sure, will post some more on Sunday after the Dallas Cowboys play.

The scoop in the pictures looks slightly distorted but it was a very bright and sunny day it is not.

Looks great. I know it was a real pain to get it back to original, but definitely worth it. :happy feet:

Looks great! Did you paint just the hood or the side panels too?

I painted the hoop scoop and the bumpers were touched up and cleared due to some small areas were a little paint peeled off on the outer part of the silver 10 inch stripe, if I had used the same larger stripe size in red I would have been okay, I actually like the width and the pin stripe on the silver stripe package, but it was not a BJ. The body shop really did a good job an repainting the scoop and applying the rivet nuts to bolt it back down.

The picture of the tribar pony was submitted because it made no sense to me to submit a warranty claim and wait 4-6 weeks for a replacement, the body shop painted or touched up the emblem with Colorado red and blue, I think all my gremlins are fixed, the rear chrome emblem is in Florida having a new disk inserted by mtmunlimited. It's hard to believe I almost didn't buy this car.

I think the next step will be to buff the car lightly and I'm good to go, I am really impressed with the
Chip Beck method of attaching the hood scoop. I am really fighting the urge to put a GT-H style rear wing on my BJ.

IMO, you've spent a lot of time and money returning this rare car back to original and a spoiler would take away from that. It also cannot be easily removed. I do understand the urge to mod. With my GT-H, I have limited my changes to ones that can be easily removed and put back to stock, but it has been tough!! Of course, it is your car, so you should do what you want with it.

I took the attached pic at the Carroll's 85th Birthday Bash. I would think there is a very good chance your car is in that group.

Tispco your right, Scotty Cobra said the same thing, nice picture, think that vert on the back row must be mine, :hysterical: I'm going to hold what I have, I'm staying stock and I do realize this is a rare car, not looking for appreciation in value, just this purchase has been one of the few things in life that I have done for myself, I know how everyone must feel now driving down the highway and no stress of worrying about waiting on warranty issues.

I hope at some point to figure out how close to the last run of cars out of SAI for SGTs mine was.

If I may add, no wing for the BJ. I actually wish the GTH did not come with one but it did so it will stay. Car looks great. Someday I will refresh my paint on the hood. Now enjoy.

Excellent work, GG!

Now go out there and enjoy it!

Just my opinion, but "wingless" looks more retro to me - more like the 65/66 Shelbys, but it is YOUR car, mod to your tastes!
