I don't believe there are any Mustang owners out there willing to shell out $22,000 for a turbo package! Nice thought though. |

I'm very interested in those wheels also. They seem to be on most of the new models
I also noticed that all the "mustang" conversions have different striping than when initially introduced this summer. |

Dewayne, you spend a lot of time snooping around don't you?
I like the wheels also. Look a little like the Ford GT rims. |

They should offer a turbo upgrade for the V6s.

I doubt they will be flying out of the shop, but I imagine they will sell a handful (or more) of them. Especially since it is open to "regular" GT's. You have a whole new market to pitch to. Buy a GT for $12k and put $22k into it and for $34k for have a 550hp "real" Shelby. It would be hard to find and buy a SGT and upgrade it to 550hp for less than $34k.

A person would spend $22K to increase the power by 75% yet not touch the brakes? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headscratch.gif) I find the GT brakes are the weakest part of the car; they can barely keep up with 315 horsepower. |

o Shelby Pro-Plus 4 wheel brake system
o Performance suspension with Caster/Camber Plates Included in the price of the Turbo package are the GT suspension and brakes...so I guess you get the Shelby GT/Turbo for 22k...not a bad deal really... |

Yes, but the Shelby GT500 has a specially designed suspension and brake package to go with the increased horsepower. You mean the Lincoln inspired/designed suspension? The softest suspension to ever come on a V8 Mustang? The GT500 suspension was "specially designed" to be soft and easy on the driver. Think Lincoln Mark VIII. |

I like the idea of a turbo. Much better performance on the road course or X-cross competitions than the root style.

o Shelby Pro-Plus 4 wheel brake system o Performance suspension with Caster/Camber Plates Is that brake package superior to the current GT500 package? What rotors, calipers, and gripping pad area does it have? I just don't know. I have camber/caster plates on all of my Mustangs. What spring rates are used? Is it engineered for the increase weight on the front? Are the shocks adjusted with the springs? How much additional weight is added with the turbo? How much of that weight is behind the front spindles, and how much is in front of the spindles? I just don't know. QUOTE (sportscars) The GT500 suspension was "specially designed" to be soft and easy on the driver. Here is a GT500 that is fast at Road America. I see little spring roll-over in this turn: (IMG:http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c154/95CobraR/Bruce22.jpg) QUOTE (super_snake67) Much better performance on the road course or X-cross competitions than the root style. That may be true. But I have held a competition road racing license for 19 years. I've raced a lot of Mustangs. I've read about all of the early Mustang championships. I've seen them win a championship with 1995 Cobra R's. The S197 FR-500-C has just won its third Grand-Am Championship. (IMG:http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c154/95CobraR/GACa.jpg) I may have missed it, but I don't remember any competitive turbo Mustang in road racing. I'd agree that a turbo is very fast on a drag strip. |

No what I'm saying is that I would choose a turbo over a root style supercharger on a road course if I had only those to choices, but I would rather have a centrifugal instead.
Most competition SCCA/NASA Mustangs are naturally aspirated. |

Another Shelby Turbo model (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rockon.gif) It's been 20 years since the last one and it's about time for another (IMG:style_emoticons/default/woot.gif)
