Wanting to sell my 2010 GT500 wheels and/or tires. These are the 19" wheels on the coupe not the 18" wheels on the vert. One wheel from Ford is $1200, which obviously does not include the tire. Can sell the wheels with or without the tires. Considering serious offers only. Please PM with any questions or offers. Thanks

Edit: Car and wheels/tires have 1k miles on them. Wheels are in perfect shape, no scratches.

FYI the wheels are $800 from Ford. I just had my front wheel that was curbed on delivery replaced. Whatever dealer that was quoting $1200 is looking to bend over the customer. Good luck on your sale! :)

Wow...$800 is still a lot.

Did you decide to go with supersnake wheels ironpeddler?

bpmurr,
I had to buy a new 19" passenger side frt wheel after a nasty scrape last month. My dealer invoiced me $1200 for it. Perhaps $800 is a trade price?

Nope, $800 was the dealer cost on the wheel. They are going to have to sell my wheel used after they clean it up as Ford would not accept it as a warranty item.

The wheel is $1200, that is what the dealers have quoted me and numerous other people have said the same thing. I wonder if Ford has like a set mark-up for every dealer on parts. All the dealers I have spoken to have quoted me $1200. $400 mark-up sounds about right although a little steep on a $800 part.

I agree I was quoted $730.00 plus $70.00 core from my dealer where I purchased the car. I phoned another dealer in town they quoted $1000.00 so shopping around pays. Also awhile back a set was on ebay the guy quoted the $1200.00 everyone is talking about in his description, but in an e-mail offer he said he would take $750.00 for one wheel. I bet now the replicas are out the price will drop from Ford.

The only thing is that these are forged wheels and I don't think the knock offs are.

I think we're saying the same thing.......the cost to the dealer, or trade cost may well be $800. I probably got hit with the full recommended retail price of $1200. :(

FYI, there is a set of 2010 wheels , tires and TMPS sensor right now on ebay, bidding is over 2100$, makes me think twice about not selling mine when I get the TF's on.

Here's a link to that ebay sale for anyone interested. Right now it comes out to $556 for a brand new wheel and tire. That's not a bad deal if you don't mind the stock tires.

If that set can be had for that much money, it would be worth that for almost the tires alone.

I have one wheel for sale in perfect condition that I have had no interrest in, would have thought someone would have dinged a wheel by now....I will accept far under list for it because I do not have that much in it but they do list for 1200 and every dealer may ask less depending on how much proffit they want to make.
The aftermarket are not forged, bid difference!

In time these wheels will come down in price, it's just like anything new with limited availability, they will stick it to you while they can.

Mere, can you attach a photo of the date code that is shown inside that wheel? I'm trying to pin down some production dates of these wheels relative to vehicle production. Here's a shot of what I'm looking for, as shown on the inside of one of the 2010 wheels/tires I recently acquired...

And yeah, the fact that Ford uses Taiwan to make these wheels is a sad reflection of the state of manufacturing in this country.

It's all about profit. It's a double edged sword that's cutting the heart of our country apart.
