What a bummer! Sorry to see this but as has been said, at least you are ok and can talk about it. Good luck with the repairs. Seems there are alot more deer out this season here in the Houston area also.

thanks for all the input folks. I have to ask you guys, "does it bother you guys if your shelby was involved in an accident and repaired?" I can't seem to get over that. Even though I plan on keeping the car for ever or as long as I can. I guess it doesn't have to be a Shelby. I would even feel the same way about my Nissan truck I bought new in 04.

It would bother me a little bit but if the shop does a perfect job and you can't tell where the damage was then eventually I probably would just forget about it.

In 08 I drove my SGT from MN to Terlingua Texas for the 08 Terlingua event; at the end of the event my car had severe rock chip damage I just couldn't look at it anymore so I bought a new front fascia, HID'S, Turn light covers, Grill, windshield, I was able to get the new scoop and stripes replaced and I had the entire front area including hood, fenders and fascia repainted it cost me about $5,000 but now the car looks like new and it doesn't bother me at all.

The stripes and scoop definately needed to be replaced before I went to the event as the stripes wete curling up and the scoop was extremely warped.

Very sorry to hear about / see the car damage! I hope you get it it fixed up quickly and good.

I've had a few close calls myself over the years.

Last weekend a fox ran across the race track right in front of me! Of course, he wouldve done minimial damage, if any...

11/7 UPDATE: I've contacted the body shop. So far the estimated repairs $6900 and can be more upon dis-assembling. Wow, I couldn't see that much damage but I do figure some labor time involved. I'd figure 3-4K. But seeing that Nordic spent 5K on just what he listed up above it would make some sense. I know a couple fellas on here do work for the dealers here, does this look/sound right? Not that I really care, it won't cost me a penny on this claim but I just don't want the repair to exceed a certain value of the vehicle for the insurance to salvage it then a whole new chapter begins with fighting with the insurance of the value of the car.

Worse come to worse, how would insurance handle this if the vehicle was total? I couldn't see it happening but always got to 1 step ahead. The value of the vehicle is probably less that what I owe on it but I do have GAP insurance. Anyone here gone through or experience this?

You aren't even close to it being totaled, don't worry!

and yes, that quote sounds reasonable for that kind of damage.

Now that is Funny. I really would mount the head of the deer on the wall but I bet its too late the maggots probably have it half eaten.

The responding office asked if I wanted the buck. Being so upset, I said no. Animal control and put it down and hauled it away. The officer's first question was " did you want to keep it and mount it up on the messed up hood?" I ignored his question.
