Have been looking to buy a KR for about a year or so. My local dealer in Bridgewater, N.J. had three KRs since last October or September. Silver 08, Vista Blue 09 and Torch Red 09. I remember looking at all three last September/October which were just delivered at that time. I had my heart set on the Torch Red which I thought was outstanding, however, the dealer wanted $83K for any of the three at that time. I didn't think any of them was in my future.

I was unsure about spending that much money on the car eventhough the dealer said the KRs had been selling for $100K and up. I wanted to investigate the Super Snake which I understood would cost roughly $90K finished. A friend of mine was pushing me to the SS. I was undecided. The economy tanked soon after I first looked at the three KRs.

I waited, and waited and waited and watched. The KRs after about 3 months started to drop slightly. The three KRs were in the dealers showroom for about a year. Each time I passed the dealer I saw the three KRs in the showroom and hoped that eventually the prices would drop to a more reasonable number. The dealer dropped the prices to about $72K this past August but wouldn't budge further. Then one night my neighbor, who is a Mustang enthusiast and who owns a 69 Mach 1 pulls up my driveway two weeks ago with the Silver KR. I was in shock. He told me he paid $58K. The car was beautiful and sounded awesome and was even more impressive out of the showroom. I was excited and was anxious to call the dealer the following morning. My neighbor told me the Blue KR was also sold. Now I was getting nervous hoping the Red KR wouldn' be sold before I could try and strke a deal on it.

Long story short, after two days of speaking with the manager I finally struck a deal on the Torch Red KR at $61K. Not a bad price I thought so I pulled the trigger. I am really pumped to finally have the red KR I saw over a year ago and never thought would be mine actually now in my garage! :happy feet:

The car is awesome :happy feet: !.

Congratulations on you new KR! After looking for a year myself I just brought a Black '08 Kr home last night. I'm amazed at how different the Kr drives from a stock GT500.

Enjoy your new ride!

So, you guys bought the other two eh?
I'm the one who got the Vista Blue one !

Did you happen to see Danielle in the showroom? She's the 2008 Vista Blue GT500 with the red "pit stripes" on the fender. I traded her in for the KR. Hope they're treating her well, she's a great car.

Congrats on a great car. Enjoy.

Thanks guys. I will definitly post some pics. Hopefully tomorrow.

FIACobra: I read in another thread that you bought the Vista Blue KR. Yup. The Blue GT500 is on the floor. I like the red pin stripes. Nice touch.

Two Shelbys: Thanks. I guess you could say I am definitely a Shelby fan. Actually the '07 Shelby Mustang GT is really my sons. He lets me drive it now and then.

I just sent the visors from the Shelby Mustang GT and the KR to the Children's foundation for Carroll's signature. Hopefully I will get them back with signatures soon. :mail:

I'm now deciding whether to put 20s on the KR. I'm leaning towards leaving the 18s on. I actually like them alot.

I've got a Shelby GT (with Kenne Bell) and the Cobra. Now that someone here actually has one each of the three, we need a comparison along with the FGT. I missed one about a month ago. Keep looking for a screamin' deal.

If you decide to sell your 18's, let me know. I would like a set of 18" forged Alcoa wheels for the track.

I will definitely post pics as soon as I can. Trouble is by the time I get home from work its already getting dark. May have to wait for the weekend.

I will definitely post a comparison of the three if you guys want me to.

The FGT is an awesome car. There aren't enough superlatives for the car. It is proof that Ford can build a world class supercar with the best of them when they put their mind to it.

Cheers.

Congrats. Had mine just over 6 months now, and I'm still smiling ear-to-ear whenever I drive it. Still get tons of compliments everywhere I go. Enjoy!!!!

BTW, nice color choice!

Hey Real One,

Great story! I'm glad that my purchase of the Silver KR helped motivate you to get the Torch Red one. I just picked up an issue of the "Shelby 2009 Annual" magazine for you (got one for myself too) which you probably already have. Its got a bunch of good articles in it about the current and past Shelbys. Next time you're out swing by and Kevin or I will be sure you to give it to you. One of the articles talks about the upgrade package for your son's Shelby GT which I'm sure you already know about. If you send your Shelby GT to Vegas or up to Tasca in RI, they can add the package to it. They turn it into a Shelby GT/SC for about $11k which adds a Ford Whipple or Kenne Bell supercharger, Baer rotors and pads, stainless brake lines, the Shelby dash gauge pod and gauges and change the GT stripe on the side to a GT/SC stripe and it would be in the Registry as an official GT/SC. That would be an awesome graduation present! (Hope he's not reading this.)

By the way, your Cobra with the Nascar 427 side oiler has got to be the nicest Cobra configuration that I've seen.

See ya soon,
Paul
