Livernois has notified me that my shortblock should be done in about a week. As I have sold the car, I have no use for this anymore. This has been completely machined and built by Livernois, and is good as new.

I'm selling it all for $4000 FIRM. I'd rather have it sit in my garage collecting dust than give it away, so don't waste my time with lowball offers. Local pickup in Manassas Park, VA or shipping can be arranged for an additional (but reasonable) charge.

Here are the specs from Livernois:

Aluminum Production Block (+.010 bore size)
Custom Livernois Forged Steel Stroker Crankshaft (Kellogg)
Forged Custom Diamond pistons (8.8-1 Compression)
Diamond Rings, Locks, and Wrist Pins
Livernois Exclusive Manley H-Beam Rods w/ ARP 2000 Bolts
Clevite Tri-Armor Coated Bearings (Mains + Rods)
ARP Main Studs
Stroker 299CI displacement

Also included:

Livernois crankshaft scraper
Oil pan
Oil pan gaskets
Oil pump & pickup - 1000 miles
Ford water pump - 1000 miles

I also have a bunch of other misc 3V engine parts you might be able to use for this engine. Those can be had for reasonable prices as well.

Not if you plan on running some good boost.

If supercharging, the CR is very well where you want it to be. Definitely not too low for the supers.

If your running a fixed displacement SC it's fine, Ken is running a centrifugal SC

I have the contact info for you guys in order - I will contact you when I get off work today.

The compression ratio on this engine is set at 8.8:1 for supercharging similar to the 03-04 Cobras.

Complete specs can be found here:
http://www.livernois...ct.phtml?p=1551
The only differences are listed above in the original post.

This engine will come with the full guarantee from Livernois. Any issues will be dealt with by them. If sold soon, it will ship directly to you from their facility in Michigan. I will ship the other parts listed in the ad from Virginia.

Trust me on this one - you don't want compression that high on a boosted motor. I found out the hard way.

I'd much rather have the safety margin of a lower comp ratio than push my luck on a $10k plus engine build. The extra power you gain with the higher compression is only worth it up until the point your expensive built motor comes apart. It happened to me, and it was not fun or cheap.

Hey Josh, how many miles on this block or is it new? I assume you sent them your engine after the 1st build blew up and that this is the 2nd incarnation. Or is this a completely new build?
Thanks again.

This is the same motor that had the piston failure. I bought it brand new from Livernois for the first build, and they use all new parts including blocks. It had right around 1000 easy break-in miles at the time of the failure. I sent them the damaged engine for inspection and repair. The pistons and rings were obviously trashed, and there was some light scoring of the cylinder walls on on side of the motor. This is the reason for the custom, oversize pistons this time around. Pistons are also manufactured by Diamond instead of the Mahle pistons in the first build. It's been bored, honed, and everything else done to make it good as new. All bearings are also being replaced with new. The crank and rods are being reused, as there was no damage - believe me, if they were, they would have charged me for them.
