Muffler keeps falling off

does any one else have this problem. its the second time for me. i like the sound out the muflers buti just cant take my car in every thing to get fix and then wait to get fix. last time it was there for 2 weeks. does any one have this problem before.

sorry for asking, but where are the mufflers located and how come they keep falling off? are you referring to the point of connection coming undone where the axleback and the pipe connect?

its the bracket that holds the muffler that keeps falling down. I was looking at the bracket and the welds look really bad. and the muuffler looks like it open up were the welds were put

If those are the M-5230-GTA mufflers, SGT standard, aren't they? Earlier versions had the lip where the bent rod is welded, and it was common for them to tear the lip and drop. Later ones had a different rod that extended to the end of the muffler can, and are trouble-free, as far as I know.

Sounds like a warranty item. Shouldn't take the dealer that long to get the newer ones, and a half-hour to install them, eh?

go see youre local ford dealer and get a claim set up.

+1 They have changed the way these are welded if I can i will post a picture but the new ones are better made.
