I was looking for a GT-H last night, dreaming that if I bought it, my wife would love it.... yes, I know... dreaming. And I came across these two Mustangs that "resemble" the GT500.

http://cgi.ebay.com/...RTQ:MOTORS:1123

This one is a GT500 Clone.... :hysterical:

http://cgi.ebay.com/...=item2a0291ade4

Now, I know people use these key words to get their cars on searches they shouldn't... but come on! I just really needed to vent, so thanks for listening!

Oh my goodness! Let's see what about that first one "resembles" a GT 500? Oh yeah, of course, it's the tail lights in the dark! Nothing about that car "resembles" a GT 500! Regarding the second one: Here's where I get totally lost.....why would you put GT 500 badges all over a V6 automatic car? "all the looks of speed" but nothing to back it up with.......

:hysterical: Do you see why I had to post this! Is it just me or do some of you just want to write these guys and ask what they were thinking?

Edit: one more thing, who else loves it when they say "Over 44k invested"! So, you invested $44k, but are selling for 27.5k... good investment.

Oh yeah, the white car looks just like a GT500!!! :hysterical:

The gray car is funny. V6 automatic.

Anyone notice the red Viper behind the V6? You have a viper and you build a GT500 clone from a V6?? REALLY???

Mr Morris, you are just a sweetheart of a guy, aren't you! :salute:

I'm just saying, it looks nothing like a shelby and its annoying that while searching for a true shelby people have to sift through ebay ads like these.

All that money spent and it's not even CLOSE to a Shelby. They could have bought a complete GT 500 Body Kit for a lot less and had a TRUE Clone.

A word to the masses.......... If you are going to CLONE a Shelby, KNOW what a SHELBY looks likes.

I had coined a phrase back when I got my GT500 back in 06, I called them GT499s.

I didn't agree with Ford for just selling all the parts outright to anyone that wanted to buy them, and I surely didn't agree with less than honest dealerships that would clone their own and sell them just short of what a real GT500 would cost.

But really, that bottom picture? It's a piece of crap and SAI should sue the dipstick that is using their name to make money. Period.

Now I know and have seen and talked to highschool kids that had "badged" their GT in the name of nothing more but honor, but this is just a real work of good ole male bovine defication.

And I think I'm even going to message him and ebay telling them that.

Follow up, I had messaged the lying seller on Ebay about the last Shelby/Eleanor for sale and mentioned to him that his car is not a Shelby, never has been and that that wasn't right to try to "pawn" it off as one.

He sent me a message back...."read the description LOSER"

I did...but it seems I either missed the one word entry far down on the page that it's a clone or he added it after I contacted him.

He has 5 references to Shelby, 3 to Eleanor, of which I can't see anything that even closely resembles an Eleanor, but I sure get the Cervini...you can't miss it.

He's definitely an a-hole that is just trying to rip someone off. I wish SAI would take it upon themselves to contact him and have him remove anything having to do with Shelby on the article. That's just not right.

HOLY SIG PIC thewheelman !!!

I love your car but, that pic is just a wee bit too big, ya think?

Ok, getting back to the cars. The 1st one would be a lot better if:
1. The grille was black
2. if it had a manual trans
3. at least have a CAI
4. and a much lower asking price

The 2nd car......
1. Take everything "Shelby" off the car
2. Put a damn V8 in it
3. Again, no manual trans
