After leaving Van hanging a month or two back, I finally got the Shelby radiator on order just now. I'm really excited to get the thing installed. I'll use this thread to document the install.
It's going to be a bit more difficult for my setup, because of the Paxton blower. Apparently a small portion of the upper rad support needs to be cut away and the upper support mounting holes to be re-tapped, in order to make way for the bulky Paxton air intake assembly.

I'll get photos up once the new radiator shows up.

Would you have a link for the radiator?

Honestly no I don't. It's not listed on SPP's site, only the GT500 one is. :headscratch:
I asked Van if he knew what was up with SPP not listing the radiator for the 4.6 and he said he'd get on them asap, because they definitely have them in stock and for sale.
In the meantime, if you want to order one, you can call Van directly at 561-445-7702. Mine is only shipping from Vegas because they are a lot closer to me than the alternative.
Just got word that it's shipping out tomorrow - Van is the man!

Ken

p.s. Hey Michael what better time to upgrade the radiator than when that hunk of aluminum is outta the way (at least that's what I'm telling my wife)?

Here are some photos I took tonight while removing my factory radiator. This is a relatively easy job, but a little tight to work with.
The only tools needed are a 10mm socket (shallow), 8mm speed ratchet, and a pair of pliers for the hose clamps. It took me about 1/2 hour to figure out how it was secured then get it removed.

Here's a photo of the upper radiator support brackets, before I touched anything.

The 4 bolts on those upper brackets are 10mm. Here's a shot after I removed the upper mounts.

The hood pin brackets are mounted underneath the upper brackets, so they slip right out.

Here's the lower coolant hose assembly.

The bottom of the radiator slips into 2 rubber isolators inside of the rigid bottom mounts. But before you can pull the radiator up from those isolators and out of the car, you need to track down the 2 top bolts and 2 bottom studs that attach the radiator to the condenser coil. Here's 1 of the 2 top bolts (8mm).

Here's 1 of the 2 bottom studs (the nuts are 10mm).

The A/C coil remains in the car, supported only by it's own rigid plumbing.

And the radiator is free to be removed.

Where will the (future) Paxton IC go in relation to the new radiatoR?

I ordered my Heat Exchanger and Radiator from Van and he is one of the most professional men I have dealt with. His radiator and heat exchanger are of the upmost quality.

Having them installed at SAI this week. Van will go the extra mile for you.

Hey Ken, here are some pics from my install for reference. It's really not that bad getting it to fit... measure twice, cut once.

Good luck... Brian O'C

Thanks Brian. I'll probably have a question or two for you on this, since you're the only other one I know of that's installed it with a Paxton.

Ken, Don't forget, I helped Brian install that bad boy! Brian's car was the first S/GT to get a prototype radiator.

I've built and managed countless power plants and have overseen countless hours of welding. I'm not an inspector by any means, but man these seams are beautiful.
And look at how HUGE this thing is. Can't wait to get it installed!

I started on the necessary modification tonight to get this beast of a radiator to fit behind my Paxton.
Here's the before and after. But after looking at again at the pic Van sent to me, I may need to shave a bit more metal out before trying to install it.
I used my trusty old 4 1/2" DeWalt angle grinder, by the way.
