REALLY??!!??!!

:yahoo: :banvictory: :happy feet:

That is awsome!

Any details on if it will be all fiberglass or possibly carbon fiber? Can you post the thread where you asked, or was it an email or something?

So this would be from shelbyperformanceparts.com I assume?

Maybe they can reach a settlement to have the alleged infringer make the KR hood in fiberglass for SAI ...like Amy indicated is coming. ...a possible win-win?

Am I the only one out there that doesn't like this hood? Don't get me wrong, I love this style on the '68. But the '68 and S197's body lines are not the same and this hood does nothing to accentuate the existing lines on the S197.

I bet the hood will be fiberglass so that it does not come with a price tag like the carbon fiber version.

I agree. I hope the SAI product has the look of the KR (Like the TruFiber product does) and the quality guys with the SunCoast say they got. SAI pulls that off they will have a winning product and worth the SAI premium it will bring. But only if the quality is there. Should be ready to paint and install. Better yet, ship them painted factory colors ready to install!

Sort of off topic, but hood related.

Does anyone know if small stone dings can be removed or filled on the stock aluminum hood?

Reason I ask is because I had my hood repainted and figured this would be fixed in the prep but was not. Is that just bad prep or is it no possible?

Just curious if any hood experts know

thanks

The answer is simply bad prep. Simply stated new paint does not cover imperfections. A good paint job has way more time in the preparation than actually applying the new paint. I worked in a body shop years ago before going to school. Realized after a couple of years that there was no money in the business (unless you own the shop and have a huge volume of insurance work or are extremely specialized with a large following of high end custom work that you can charge a premium for)!
