Craig (SGT/SC2873), Kevin (Dig-It) and I have been discussing this over the last few weeks. This is the kick-off thread to start the ball rolling…..

The group will be open to anyone that is an enthusiast of classic or late model, Ford or Dodge, basically anything Shelby.

The goal is to get owners living in NC, SC and VA together a minimum of three times a year, once in each state. These gathering could be tied to an existing event or something totally new (open to suggestions). We’re just now starting the process of discussing venues for 2010. This association could also be used as a vehicle to get local owners together too.

If this is something you’re interested in being part of, please PM anyone of us with your contact information, we’ll be complying an email distribution list to use for future communications.

I would also like to invite your comments and suggestions.

Thank you,
Carl

PS. Kevin and Craig, if you'd like to add anything, please do….

The Myrtle Beach mustang week might be a good one for SC

For VA, may I recommend the 2010 MCA Nationals in VA Beach

Mark,

Great to see you back on the forums....

After Kevin finishes his current assignment and gets back home we'll kick off the planning for this upcoming year.

Happy New Year,
Carl

here is something that I had proposed and the feedback was to change to the month of April. Also, I like the idea of Mustang week at the beach....

That’s right; it’s time to plan now for a road trip this spring. Looking to plan a weekend getaway maybe in March 2010.

Anyone interested?

What about a 3 day weekend arriving on a Friday and leaving out on Sunday.

Initial plan would be for those who can make the trip in time, meet for lunch on Friday and spend some time around town goofing off. Then meet others who have farther to travel that evening for dinner and social time.

I am looking at mountain homes to rent for the weekend that can accommodate up to 10-12 people vs. the hotel deals. Cost wise this appears to be doable if you feel rates running approximately $80 per family, per night are feasible. I have found a few that are absolutely beautiful and located 10-15 minutes from town. Large porches overlooking the mountains, fire pits, 5-6 bedrooms, regulation size pool tables, tv’s, wifi, you name it. ARE YOU INTERESTED YET?

Then on Saturday, I might be able to set up a “private” viewing of one of the most unique FORD PRIVATE car collections in the southeast. After that we could do lunch and then cruise this very scenic area. Later in the evening, we could head back to town to some more “goofing off”. Ladies could shop and there are many shops and if the guys get lazy, I know of several nice pubs in town.

ARE YOU INTERESTED YET?

Sunday, check out of the home and head to location in town for our “goodbye” breakfast and START PLANNING THE NEXT ONE!

Where you might ask, it’s a secret for now. (but not too far from the dragon) hint, hint.....

From Raleigh, NC 6 hours

From Myrtle Beach 6 hours

From Wilmington 6.5 hours

From Asheville 3 hours

From Carrollton, Va. 8 hours 53 minutes (there is a lovely place in Wake Co. if you could split the trip. I believe it’s Carl’s Cottage or Kim’s Kozy Acres)

From Va. Beach 9 hours

From Lexington, NC 4.5 hours

Let me know if this is something you would be interested in doing………

Just moved up to VA from GA... so, while I didn't change "regional groups", I surely changed regions.
Definitely looking for some local car show, track time, and meet-n-greet activities in this area. The above agenda sounds like a winner... any dragstrips near the proposed location?

AFter I get fully settled, I'll be scoping out the local Mustang Club and cruise night scene. Might have to see if there is a Mustang Club at the Pentagon!

Can't wait for the snow, ice and SALT to go away.

Keith

Hi Keith, hope this was a "good" move for you. Hasn't been much interest in the above. Some have reponded and it seems to be a busy time of year, not to mention the dreaded tax word. There was some discussion about maybe doing Myrtle Beach as a group which would solve a lot of the "planning issues". You have a great group of folks up in that area and I am sure you won't have much trouble finding things to do. Keep checking back here as I am sure Carl and others will be posting up some ideas as well. Later, Craig

Carl,

love the shirts. Will they give an option to have the stripes on the front in a LeMans Silver? Craig

Craig,

I would like to offer different color stripes but I would have to pay out of pocket to upgrade the storefront in order to have multiple versions of the same shirts being offered. I was trying to keep the costs down for everyone. Give me a call tonight if you would like to discuss further.....
