These are the 1-piece's used on the 725hp SS. Given the sweet price I was wondering what is involved with installing this piece? Is it a direct bolt-on? I have a lift. I have an adjustable UCA as well. What are the trade-off's? Do they have more NVH?

Thx,

-- Bob

We did ours laying on our back. Was a simple straight forward bolt in. You should do a safety loop while your under there.
There was no NVH after install.
What is the going price now?

Bob

There is a different harmonic with an aluminum drive shaft. They tend to get a little buzzy a certain RPMs. Mine was most noticeable at steady state 90 mph.

For street driving, stay away from 4" diameters. Mine bit the dust in Terlingua.

I think this is a 3.5" version. Pinion angle become critical with a one piece.

I put in a DD loop from swarr auto .com and i can say it works. when mine broke at a 4000 rpm launch and not a scratch on the car. cant say much about the drive shaft it a three piece one now.

sorry to sound negative but typical thru Shelby........it's overpriced. I bought mine direct with the upgraded steel adaptor for less than $800 Canadian to my door........I believe the dollar at the time was around .89 cents

Its $595 for a short time for Team Shelby club members. Seems like a good deal to me.

So what's the verdict on vibration with this DS? Is it just luck of the draw?

I've heard and read many people complain about vibration/noise at speed, similar to what Michael is describing.
Tons of guys swear by the 1 piece DS, so I started shopping around. I asked the guys at Griggs about it and why they didn't offer one for sale.
They told me that the vibration on the track is extremely noticeable and that the benefits do not outweigh the negative effects of installing a 1 piece on an S197.
They only recommend them for the earlier models. Anyway, I'm not trying to nay-say at all, I'm just relaying the info I've gotten. On a lighter note, install ought to be a breeze, but again Michael is right, the pinion angle is critical. Good luck either way man.

I have this shaft. Straight up install. We set the pinion angle to -3 with my slightly lowered rear and it's as smooth as can be. No issues whatsoever. That price from Shelby is a smokin' deal. Pick one up while you can. I paid $750 this past spring, but I can't complain one bit. I love my shaft....ummmm wait a minute. Oh nevermind, you know what I mean. LOL!!

I really wish someone with the connections with SAI could find out how they spit out all those 725HP SS's with the 1 peice Dynotech with no use of an adjustable UCA and are very much lowered?

I guess I am just not interested with gettting into an adj upper, I love my Roush non adjustable, no noise, no hop, and paid for!
