I'm planning on swapping the stock exhaust for a 3" complete system (headers to tips). I'm not sure if I should pick to Bassani or the Stainless Works exhaust system. They are both within the same price range and supposedly produces similar gains in HP and TQ.

Does anybody have any personal experience with either one of these systems, and if so, is it worth the cost.

Thanks... :shift:

my stainless works is definitely worth it. Make sure you order the "loud" mufflers. The standards are barely audible inside the car. Click the link in my sig for vids of the exhaust.

I just put the bassani's on a couple of weeks ago. I like them. Here is a poor quality sound clip from the day I picked them up.

If your going for a complete system SW is about the best out there, we have a complete sys on our GT500 and if you go without the cats the bigger diameter mufflers are too loud, ticket too loud.

If you use their highflow cats then the bigger diameter mufflers would be Okay.

Don't know the HP gain yet because we haven't been back on the dyno yet.

http://theracecarfactory.com/ is a StainlessWorks dealer, the SW ad is on the front page of the site, midway down, heres the link.

American racing Lt headers with bassani 3" race cats and bassani x and mid pipe also bassani race muf .....This sys works well with th KB for the headers don't interfere with the lowering of the Eng mounts thats why I did not use the bassani headers ....Plus the collection tubes suck on the bassani's ...they need to work on this area [IMO ONLY]...S.W--A.R--are the better pipes [IMO] but the bassani primary's are to die for....................Dave... :headspin:

Thanks for the input. I will get the JLT cold air intake, 2.7 pulley swap, and a tune tomorrow. The exhaust will come after that.

Thanks...

Is the new Bassani system that just came out for the GT500 not as reliable as the SW? I would think that there would be no problem with the collection tubes, especially with the steep price for the system.

Thanks...

friend in cape coral has the bassanis and they are no where near as loud as the old version FRPP 49 state legal axle backs.

Since I love the ford racing logo on the tips .. I am considering getting the new version thats Shelby specific ...supposedly they dont drone like mine do now

I don't feel that there is any prob with them but after I had a good look at them both side by side what I see is the 4 to 1 collector cone in the center is not centered well and the welds are sloppy. Also I don't like the way you need to slam the primary's into the collector ...O well nothing is perfict............even me, I know ...but it's true.... :hysterical2:

Ya I am interested in SW if they make a 3 inch system that will bolt to your stock headers.
Otherwise I think I will get the new Borlas that Ford Racing offers, but the part number is the same as the old Borlas, athough I think on the FRPP site it shows a 49S next it or something like that? I just am not so sure these Borlas are new or not, no one has confirmed for sure.

You can buy the complete SW system from the block on back or section by section using your OEM exhaust manifolds.

i installed the 3" Bassani system from factory manifolds back and the sound is IMO awsome! It is loud but why else would you be changing your factory exhaust if you didn't want it louder. As far as hp increase I don't know. I do know that after I put the system on it had 431 at the wheels and that is all I have done to it. I wish I would have dyno'd before the exhaust but too late now. JLT stage II is coming soon just have to find time to put more miles on the car first.

Hmm, 431 sounds like what it should do stock, those numbers are not very promising but then again, perhaps after you do the stage II you will see greater results! :)
To me the exhaust is just about sound and how it looks because the stock exhaust flows very well and there really is no need from a performance standpoint to remove it, unless you plan on swapping blowers or something like that.

I've got the Kook's headers and catted x on the shelf waiting for a slow day to do the install, although 44 rwhp sounds a little optimistic. I have'nt decided which catback to run yet, wating to hear how the Shelby specific FRPPs sound. Sounds like the magnapacks might be a little too loud.
