Comment of mr. Brad Shantry Wheel-to-Wheel Powertrain:
Commenting on this strategy, Brad Shantry, product development manager of Wheel-to-Wheel Powertrain, Antonov's North American distributor, said:

"The forced induction market is unquestionably growing. I feel that a centrifugal supercharger with a step-up drive will quickly become the icon product of the performance industry."

Antonov demonstrates potential of world's first two speed
supercharger drive system

The world's first two speed supercharger drive system to enter series production will be demonstrated by Antonov, the automotive technology company, at the Engine Expo exhibition at Stuttgart in Germany next week The following week, the racing driver Peter Kox will demonstrate the technology at the Zandvoort race circuit in the Netherlands.

While this first commercial application from Antonov's broad range of patented technologies will be demonstrated in two high performance vehicles - a Mercedes and Ford Mustang - the high volume potential for the device lies in its ability to enable engine downsizing, opening up the application of superchargers to mainstream vehicles.

Following the European events, the Mustang will be shipped to North America to feature in the Hot Rod Power Tour, which is presented by GM's performance division.

The initial release of the device into the buoyant US tuner market exposes the first production units to a tough performance engine environment and, in many instances, aggressive track racing conditions.

<<"The forced induction market is unquestionably growing. I feel that a centrifugal supercharger with a step-up drive will quickly become the icon product of the performance industry.">>
centrifugals are relatively cheep, but dont help the bottom end for day to day driving...so I gotta disagree with the above. this is just another takeoff on a centrifugal thats been around forever...

I think I'll still wait for the magnason unit(if it ever comes out)...3500 bucks for the non-intercooled version of their roots blower...oh yeah. I dont plan on racing, just want that bigblock bottomend feeling off idle (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) cant really get that with a centrifugal- needs positive displacement. if racing, probably dont matter- at topend boost is boost, just centrifugals dont boost much till >3k from what Ive read...roots will boost pressure at idle if you open the throttle.

yep it does look a little bit spammish too.

aint no spam here but take a look at this as yet unavailable roots blower- one of the magazines said 3500 bucks for the kit is what theyre aiming for-
http://www.mossmustang.com/SiteGraphics/we...upercharger.htm

some guys commented about the extra belt,- but I think it looks kinda cool, and its 2k cheeper than roush/saleen- might just squeeze into my budget - if the wife dont kill me first (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
