  1. First I’m sorry to hear some of you guys are having oil consumption problems with the GT350 engine. 1. Has anyone been able to document if the problem exists with newer cars? 2. Also do the cars that use a lot of oil do so from day one? I’ll let you guys know if we end up with an oil consumption problem. We have a late build 2017 (July) and have not taken it easy on her. Our first track day was just after we passed the 500 mile mark. I kept the RPM below 6500 that day, reaching 120MPH on the longer straight at Pueblo Motorsports Park CO. We now have just over 2000 miles on our Shelby and the oil is still full. Also I have added the oil traps on the valve cover to intake lines.
  2. Update: Ford has updated the database with 2017 GT350 information. You can order your Shelby's certificate package now.
  3. In case this has been missed by anyone who was waiting for Ford to get the data base entered and cleanup for the 2017 GT350s. 2017 cars have now been added and are available for you to order your cars production information. Click on Shelby GT350 under All Departments on the left side of the screen displayed by this link: http://www.fordshowparts.com/store.cfm?store_id=1
  4. Here is a way to find out what the production numbers were for your Shelby. Right now Ford has 2015 & 2016 numbers available with 2017 numbers to be ready soon. 1. http://www.fordshowparts.com 2. Click your car type left on the left side of screen. In my case it would be 'Shelby GT350' 3. Then click on 15-16 GT350 Certificate 4. You will need to enter your vin number and payment information. Ford will send you a certificate with detailed information on what number your car is of how many built apparently including number of your color built. I can not validate this for you because I have to wait for the 2017 information to be posted. Let me know if any of you receive your certificate and what information is included. Thanks.
  5. I did a quick search but did not have any luck. Are 2017 GT350 production numbers available by color? Thanks.

As you might expect there where very nice BOSS, Shelby and AC cars. Larry is planning on scheduling this again next year earlier in spring. 9. I think the majority of us are all saying the same thing. The cars built based on Carroll Shelby’s vision are what the car enthusiast enjoys.
  10. Amy, Wish we could join the team for this one but we will have to wait for one of the club events to come closer to the east coast. I tried to email you about the registry; will Team Shelby manage the registry for the old cars if SAAC provides the information back to Carroll. I know this may seem like an obvious question, but I haven’t seen it answered. Also I really appreciate Carroll's news release; please let him know that club members really appreciate being updated. Thanks again, Frank
  11. Man you guys are really getting fired up over the old Shelby/New Shelby subject. Maybe we should all remember what happened to Cart and IRL. If we all get wrapped up in which cars are real Shelby’s then I think we are forgetting why we bought our cars in the first place. We do this because we really enjoy these cars. The old cars are never going to be technical equivalents to the new cars and the new cars are never going to be as rare as the old cars. I think what is missing in all of this talk is does Team Shelby want to have the responsibility of managing the entire Shelby car production registry. I’m hoping that how ever this works out, everyone involved understands that the long term protection of the Shelby line is important to many of us. Remember -- it's about the cars...
  12. We have a 67 GT500 and currently are finishing up a 70 BOSS 302 restoration. Looking to sell the BOSS, working on the purchase of a 66 GT350 from a person that has owned the 66 car for 35 years. One day I would like to own a newer Blue with White strips Shelby…
  13. There are a bunch of us in Fredericksburg VA. Everything from a 66GT350's, 67 and 68 GT500’s and GT350's to several 07 and 08 GT500’s

    SAAC

I have been a SAAC member for about eight years and currently belong to SAAC and Team Shelby. SAAC personally helped me restore a 67 GT500 by providing answers to every question I could come up with. Bob Gains was unbelievably helpful. I got a chance to go to SAAC 31 at VIR and we had a very good time. We don’t know what happened between Carroll and SAAC because we don’t know if Carroll had been asking SAAC to be more inclusive or maybe other changes Carroll wanted over the years just did not happen. We can’t guess what went on during private discussions. My two cents is that I hope both clubs coexist or if eventually both groups end up in one club; everyone just has a good time and enjoys these awesome cars. For me Carroll’s legendary role in bringing Ford to the top in racing is absolutely fantastic. Remember only after failing to buy Ferrari did Ford accept Carroll’s leadership with a racing program the produced 66 and 67 Lemans victories.
  15. Did you get my response yesterday? Anyway let me know if you need any help with the restoration. We have recently completed a 67 restoration and would be happy to help you with pictures or information. Many people helped us or it would most likely not have been done very correctly. Frank
