  1. I am about to purchase a 2018 GT350 with 2500 miles. And then I got to wondering if the previous owner took the valve covers off and repainted them, would this cause warranty problems? With all I have been reading about oil problems in these engines, I don't want to all of a sudden have an oil problem and have Ford come back and tell me "Sorry" Warranty is not good because the valve covers removed for painting. Will visit my Ford dealer tomorrow and get their input. Don't want to call the purchase off but if it will affect the warranty, I can't do it.
  2. Everyone has their own philosophy about how much mileage they should put on their Shelby GT. I've had mine three and a half years and recently turned over 30K. I live in WI and it sits in the garage about four months out of the year. So you can imagine how many more miles it would have if I could drive it year round. My philosophy - Drive it. That is why it was built. Shelby GTs were built for two reasons, IMO, to drive and to show it off. You can't do either if it sits in the garage. So in answer to your question, my reply would be "No, it isn't normal"
  3. This would be a cool trip. As it will be more than a year since my last Shelby trip, 50th Shelby Anniversary at Carlisle, maybe a kitchen pass won't be too hard to come by.
  4. Welcome to Team Shelby. You will soon find that owning a ShelbyGT is an adventure. Just ask anyone of us who drives one. Drive it and don't hide it!
  5. Count me in! Forum Name - karashemshek Car - 2007 GT Performance White State - WI Arriving - Fri Poker Run - No Hotel - Raddison Parade - Yes
  6. Had a lot of time to think about MR SHELBY, the man and the legend, yesterday during a four hour cleaning of The Shelby. Several of my neighbors came over to see if I had heard the news. RIP CARROLL SHELBY
  7. Deer aren't fun. I've reduced the WI deer population by two in the last several years. Fortunately, it was with my Explorer Sport Trac and not the Shelby. Hope your body shop does you a great fix and no return trips to fix things not done correctly.
  8. Anyone interested in driving with 7-8 Shelbys and Mustangs, meet us at 0800, Thursday, 26 April, at Love's Truck stop, Exit 3, just South of the WI/IL border
  9. I am going. Will be in Winchester, VA 31 May for the convoy to Carlisle on 1 Jun. Maybe we can meet up then. Will have the Team Shelby Great Lakes Region Banner on the windshield
  10. Several us of us are driving down on Thursday morning. If you can leave a day early, you are welcome to join us.
  11. Will be driving in with 6-8 other vehicles from Wisconsin. It will be our third trip. If I had only one event to attend each year, this would be it. For those of us in the North Country it marks the beginning of the driving season.
  12. Over breakfast one morning three years ago, my wife gave me the "OK" to buy a muscle car. I had been reminiscing much too often about my 69 Charger I had back in the 70s when I was in my early 20s. Now at 58, I had no idea what I wanted, but I had been given the OK and that was enough. I begin my search on the internet and when I saw it, I knew it was the one I would get. Just can't say it any other way. Kind of like love at first sight. So flew from Milwaukee to VA in the middle of a winter storm. Bought it in the airport parking lot at 1:00 AM on Christmas eve. And now on Christmas eve, I will have owned it for three years and I couldn't be happier unless of course I lived down South where I could drive it all year long. WI winters and Shelby GT were not made for each other.
  13. It is late in the year, but I'm still driving The Shelby. No snow, no salt - kind of makes me wonder if I still live in WI. I'm guessing it won't be long before it will be in the garage for the next 3-4 months.
