Mustangs and my family. My 17 year old son drives a 1994 GT coupe that has been coverted to a Saleen. My daughter drives a 1995 GT conv that has been converted to a Saleen and my wife drives prettey much what she wants. I drive an 1989 LX 5.0 as a daily driver.<br /> Previous cars include 2 each 1970 Boss 302 (the yellow one featured in Mustnag Monthly in 1993), 1969 428 Super Cobra Jet Mach One (Red with white interior and featured in Super Ford mag in 1992), several 1967 fastbacks from 289, 2 4bls to 1967 with 478 Super Cobra Jet, R-C6 tans with 9inch rear. I have had 36 Mustangs in my life. My first mustang was a 1965 coupe when I was 15 years old. Within a few months it had cam, headers, intake and carb change as well as a set of the Thrust mags. That is it for now. bm
  1. Du you still have the brake duct kit? I would like to buy if possible. Billy Billy.mcdaniel55@gmail.com 316737-5601 Thanks !
  2. Welcome Bruce, Just purchased our first KR. I am a happy camper with the car. I fully understand your Z car. My buddy had one while I had grabber blue boss 302 while in the army back in the day. I traded my 2007 Shelby SGT (which was about 500 HP) when i traded it for the 2013 grabber blue boss 302. I fully understand about the Z car and the Boss car. Dang amazing cars in the day. Having said that I am so glad i got the KR , love it!! and it is one of the few that came from Shelby so hang on to that puppy if you can. I could care less about the value in my life time but as you mentioned it will be nice to pass on to the kids one day. Look forward to seeing your post in the future. -Billy
  3. Hi Everyone, Well we have had the car for a few weeks and put in storage until I have some time to play with it. Of course we put several hundred miles on it that week end of purchase. It is a great car, Now has 3,921 miles on it after my driving. I simply love this car. Actually better than the 2013 boss car. (i guess in many different ways) It's a one one owner, owned by a gentleman that never drove the car much. It appears by his address he has about 4 or 5 garages on his million dollar plus house so I suspect it truly did never see the rain. Car looks like it did on the showroom floor. I could eat off the underside. All correct floor matts etc... are in the car however it is missing the brake duct kit. I am trying to reach him to check on the brake duct kit and the orignal window sticker but if I can not obtain I still am very happy with the car. Fortunately since the car came from out of state they had to furnish me the orignal title in the previous owners name so I could get a VIN check done at the state police headquarters. That provided me the previous owner and address. Now just hoping he will get back in touch with me. The wife and I are looking forward to adding some miles this summer. Thanks all for your post. It is good to be back on the forums with Shelby guys and gals. -Billy

  5. I had same issue you are having with my 2001 lightning. I changed the filter first and that did not help. Checked the fuel pressure and it was almost normal when at an idle. I could apply pressure to the gas peddle and the fuel pressure would drop significantly. Under any kind of load the pressure would drop and not retun to normal until I put the truck back in park. Ended up being one of the fuel pumps and the hose that connected one pump to the other was very loose. The truck had like 40K miles at the time. I have around 55K now and it runs fine. I replaced both pumps and all hoses wen I did this. I would suggest checking the fuel pressure at idle and then under load, it will be harder to do under load wit the standard transmission than it was for me on the auto lightning but I would almost bet that is the problem. If it is pressure , for sure you do not want to drive the car much more as it could lean the engine out so much the computer cannot keep up and then burnt pistons etc.. Good luck, I have felt you pain. Thanks, -Billy
  6. Hi All, I am purchasing this car this week, that is if the car is what is represented when it arrives on the truck (being shipped to KC area) I know it is a one owner and the car fax shows no accidents, does show the oil changes and a service bulletin performed at ford. The car has little less than 4K miles. I am purchasing from a dealer. The reason for the purchase is that I thought it is to good a deal to pass up and sometimes those deals will bite you hence my message to you guys/gals. I would appreciate any info good or bad that you can share. I am hoping to have zero big surprises when delivered. (I can get out of the purchase if I do not like what I see, just loose my shipping dollars) While I have had several Shelby cars and Boss 302 car at the house. I have always wanted a KR so here we go Thanks everyone, -Billy
  7. I have a stock shifter I will sell. Removed from my 2013 GB boss when it has 5300 miles. Will take $100 for it. If interested text me at 316-737-5601. Thanks, Billy
  8. FYI for anyone interested, Rusty Eck Ford in Wichita Kansas has 2014 500 with all options, nice dark red with white strips, really a nice car. List is 67K and change. It can be bought for list and may be bought for 1000 or so off list. Just wanted to pass along for anyone looking. There is no need to pay over list for these cars as several here have sold for list or a little less. Take Care, -Billy
  9. Guys, having owned SGT3131 (without and then with the whipple installed) for 32K miles and now a 2013 Boss for 5K miles. I can tell you the Boss Car rides much better than the SGT in normal drving conditions. I drove my old SGT a few months ago at Hallet and then drove my Boss next race cycle. The Boss by far exceeds the drvie comfort and handling of the SGT. Now having said that I felt like the SGT is a true performer but Boss car it is not. And I do plan on buying another SGT when the right car comes my way in 2014 or so. I just hope it has all the documentation I had when I sold my SGT. The good news is a very close friend of mine purchased the SGT so it is kin of like family owning it. Take Care and Gears Up Men !!! -Billy
  10. Hi All, Well, I sold my SGT 3131 to very good friend, Allen, and picked up the boss car Friday afternoon last week. Hoping Allen will join our team shelby so he too can keep up with all that is going on the the shelby world. It was truly a hard decision to let the SGT go and I can tell you I had seller remorse for a few days but now over that and enjoying the heck out of the boss car. Wife still thinks I'll end up shopping for another SGT within a year. I will have to say they both are great cars. The SGT had the whipple installed and going from that to the na boss is different but a good different. Boss car is SN 076, grabber blue with the seats and rear-end options. I drove it off the show room floor with 14 miles on it and now showing 301 miles when I got to work today. Can't wait to get the 1000 miles, make the oil change and then drive it like it is suppose to be driven. Noted the one thing that I do not like about the new boss cars is that the car just sits way too high off the wheels. Reminds me of a pickup truck. Having said that i just finished ordering a set of H&R super sport springs that are suppose to lower the rear by 2.4 inches and the front 1.7 inches. I am told by others that use the same springs they work great with zero wheel interferance even with 20's on their car. I'll post installation along with pros and cons to these once I start the install and at completion of installation of springs. I tried to attach a few pictures. Hope they made it. Also hope to see some of you at Tulsa in June and see if we can have some fun at Hallet and Tulsa raceway. My SGT has made it several years there so we plan to give the boss car the same opportunity. Take care All, -Billy
  11. Did the install myself (savings of over $7,000) and unlike others I have yet to have any issues, over 11K miles now. Understand my car is not is the reg as SC's however I can live without the headaces others have had and save 7K at the sametime. At the end of the day I just get a lot of satisfaction of doing it myslef and knowing I did it right the 1st time. For those that cannot do it themselves I fully understand having the install complete elsewhere. Kind of like plumbing in the house. I start with one leak and end up with 6 leaks (no joke guys). Therfore I call the plumer for house plumbing. O'h and I taught electronics / avionics at a tech school to make the 6K I needed for the whipple. For sure I will sure dont regret the SC install. Man as you know it is a ball to drive. Take Care Guys, -Billy
  12. At the end of the day if I can not purchase the orginal S items as wanted then II 'll simply copy it and install it. End of the big deal. Do not even talk to me about the copyright BS -Billy
  13. Thanks for sharing this. I want to do the same thing like asap. Where did you find the instructions to remove the cover. I tried to search by entering airbag, air bag cover but no help; I do recall several guys had this on our site and did a really good job of describing the removal and reinstallation but for the life of me I cannot find. Can you send me link for instructions for removal. I guess i could look in my haynes manual but doubt if they tell me de to nature of the part. I'll look there as well. Thanks Much! -Billy
  14. Hi Guys, In speaking of why Ford took the GT500 to the 650HP. I do not think it was due to the current Boss 302 as these are very different cars and both great cars. (2012 GT500 AND Boss 302) I will bet (say a hole in a donut to the donut) that the 2 each real reasons Ford did this is so that: In late 2013 Ford will introduce the 2014 Boss 351 at around 500 to 525 HP utilizing the 5.8 without the blower. Watch out of the 5.8 to be the roadrunner version and be installed in the Boss 351. That would not look good for the GT500 unless the GT500 had say a 100 or so more HP. Recall that in 1969, 1970 and the in 1971 the Boss 351 which would blow the door off the 302 cars, well in the 1/4 mile but not on the road course. ( I know as I have owned all 3) Expect the same in 2014. ( my thoughts anyway) I feel most cetian the the ZL1 had a lot to do with the options being offered on the 2013 GT500 such as the track pack etc... Anyway, my 2 cents as this is fun speculating and reading you guys comments. What are your thoughts of the normal aspired 5.8 (351) Boss for 2014. I think that would be too cool. Take Care, -Billy
