    Music, guitar and of course my 2nd Shelby GT500, a 2014 GT500. What a difference and what a car. Track and performance pack and all the electronics one would ever need. So much better and more than the 2009 GT500 I use to own. Justvtraded in the ‘14 Shelby GT500 for a ‘18 Shelby GT350. Miss the hp but love the handling.

  1. Tesgt350, I was leaving a car cruise-in and two mile west of that location a deer ran out in front of me. Not even two months old and only 2580 miles on the clock my Shelby is now in the body shop getting repaired. I am still sick about it but the deer don’t come through the windshield so I insider myself lucky not getting hurt but still my Shelby had an estimate from 9-11k dollar repair. I’ll see it again in 3weeks..
  2. I will do just that. Already had it to the dealership so a paper trail has begun. As soon as I get it out of the body shop I will be checking the oil and then getting oil separators on it. Thank you for your reply.

Just wondering if any of you are experiencing some engine noise, what sounds like to me lifters in the old cars, when you do a cold start and rev the engine from 500 to 2000 RPM, it subsides some after warm up but it is still there. The dealership says that they would contact Ford hotline but they havent gotten anything back from it yet. Would like to see if any one else is having the same issue. By the way, I have had my Shelby 2 months and had 2580 miles on it when a deer came from nowhere and run in front of me. I hit it, at 70mph, on the front left fender and hood area. the insurance said around $9k -$11K damage cost. Anyway back to the engine noise please let me know if this a normal thing. Thank you in advance.
  5. I am confused S to what brake pads to use. As you all have said some have had problems with the Hawk pads and the OEM are very costly so which pads should I go with. I drag race my 2014 Shelby GT500 and do some aggressive driving on the streets so I want a pad that is in between a race and street pad. Any suggestions would be appreciated.. Thank you in advance
  6. I have a 2014 Shelby Gt500, even new i coud smell the clutch at times and reported it to my dealership, Jack Kain Ford in Versailles , KY. That started with around 200 miles on the car in August 2013. The car has never been abused but well used and break in was followed as stated in the manual. At 16K the clutch failed to grab in 4th, 5th, and 6th gear and slipped so bad i barely made it to 70mph on the freeway due to slipage. Jack Kain said it was covered under the original warranty and i should get my car back the third week of March 2015. I am grateful for my dealership to take care of this problem for me with no $$ out of pocket. I've had no other issues with my Shelby and love the car. Thanks for letting me share..BTW i received permission from Jack Kain Ford to place their name in ths forum. I get to see what my clutch looks like today or monday. It is 12 March 2015 at the moment. I will try to post pictures of the clutch after it is out.. thank

  8. Just had the TSB done on my 2009 Shelby GT500. It is amazing at the difference it made in the feel of the clutch. A lot softer. But now i too have that chatter noise when the car is in neutral and the clutch out. Going back to the shop to check it out Wednesday the 12th. TSB was performed with no questions asked except for the symptoms it had. after that it was all done and good to go. They did tell me break it in for 500 miles before getting "on it",. So thats what i am doing. i have 100 miles left..
  9. I have a 2009 GT500 and it has build date of Aug. 25th 2008 and it is now in the shop getting the TSB performed. They said the clutch was shot. Dont know yet what flywheel is in it though. Will be going out today to check it all out..

  11. I used the Krylon matt finish UV protection spray and so far all is good. Mine didnt bleed or anything but I sprayed it in 92 degree weather in the sun. I put maybe 10 coats on it so we'll see if it fades or not. My Shelby is in the garage most of the time anyway and only sits out in the sun on cruise-ins and car shows. Nothing like the Shelby though..what an automobile Ford made!!
  12. I recieved my dead pedal a couple of weeks ago. It is well made and very sturdy. The instructions were very good and it only took around 30 minutes and thats removing the kick panal and door sill. And it looks very nice and functional. I want the other pedals to go with it now..
