Team Shelby Club 2018 Team Shelby Membership Kit Please note that membership contents are subject to change.   Team Shelby was designed and engineered by real enthusiasts inside and out of Shelby.   Team Shelby was originally formed in 2008 by Carroll Shelby. He wanted to create a club for people to truly enjoy their cars. He knew the world had changed, and he wanted his companies to meet the needs of the new generation of Shelby owners. His vision was to knit together those people with the owners of early Shelby's and give everyone fun new ways to experience their high performance vehicles.   Mr. Shelby imagined a place where owners could talk about their latest conquests at the track, swap stories, share photos and learn new ways to hot rod their cars! He wanted to link all of the enthusiasts into one "dream garage"... thus, Team Shelby was born!   Team Shelby has many free, open access forums, news sections and member only areas dedicated to the community.   In addition, Team Shelby has a full series of events for 2018, which include VIP Experiences, track days, National & Regional gatherings, cruises, car shows and more! Ownership of a Shelby is not required to be a member. The club is dedicated to serving all Shelby enthusiasts past and present including those that own cars built in the 1960's and Shelby Dodges too! 1. Requirements To Qualify as a Shelby

Or, I believe, you can have one of the few associated Shelby facilities do it. I thought that Galpin was one of those. You might check with Galpin Auto Sports and see if they are. Of course you are pretty close to Las Vegas......
  2. GTH44

First off, welcome! ....and congrats. Call Cal Pony Cars and explain what you have and what you need. They have the struts/kits in various colors and strengths. I needed a heavier duty strut for my GT350 than the standard strut. They should be able to take care of you. http://calponycars.com/
  3. Average insurance price

There are a lot of variables: is it a daily driver; do you track it; how many miles per year do you drive it; what kind of coverage do you want; is it garaged etc, etc. I searched and researched for my 2011 GT350 and found American Modern to be the best coverage and easiest to deal with, and I get to pick the miles I drive. I can also call them and up the miles for any given year if I'm going to an event for example. About $650/year now that I'm in TX.
  4. How to Order New Shelby

While shopping for a new F-150, I noticed that the local Ford dealer in San Antonio was flush with Shelby Raptors and current GT editions. Even had a 50th on the floor. They said they had a relationship with SAI to sell their products and were anxious to take care of mine.
  5. WTB unsigned airbag cover....

What Andy said. And for info the 07 and 08's are the same part number. If you need printed directions I have those as well, just let me know.
  6. Sounds good. As recent transplants from the Pacific region we've been hoping for some local activities to kick in. FYI: I clicked on the facebook link but it wouldn't open. John
  7. Shelby GT Salvage Value

If you bring it back to life and keep it, no one is ever going to know it's a salvage car unless it's something you want to share about the history of it. If you do it right, just drive it, enjoy it and at some point in the future you decide to get rid of it, sell it to someone who might want to track it. Kudos for your effort and saving a Shelby!
  8. It can be fixed...I know! It's just fiberglass. When I chipped mine I had it removed, patched and covered in carbon fiber. At the same time I ordered a second splitter from SAI while they were still available and had it painted white so I could always put the car back to stock if I wanted to. That one is safely tucked away. The original splitter is riveted on so if you choose to repair it make sure to use screws to replace it (it may need to be R/R'd again!)
  9. California Black Plate

Also check ebay, there used to be tons of them on there. Welcome aboard!
  10. 2014 GT350

Not sure about your year, they didn't for the first few years of that run; CA's emission rules wouldn't allow it. There were after market ones available.
  11. Oil weight

"Drive it like you stole it" and fuel economy somehow just don't seem to equate....
  12. 2014 GT350

If you want to make some changes, without destroying the character of the car, but personalizing for yourself, here's a couple: Hood struts, color coordinated of course, so you don't have to use the rod to hold the hood up (just be sure to get the correct ones so they're strong enough to hold that monster of a hood). A brushed aluminum ( or chrome if you prefer) shorty antenna to get rid of that rubber thing stuck on the back fender. A carbon fiber radiator cover to replace the stock ford cover. Just some quick thoughts for ya'.............
  13. Wanted item

Wow...I have a new set of those mats as well. I better put them in the safe!
  14. Hood Struts for 2013 GT350

This is what mine looks like. A little different from that one, but it's possible that I started off with the incorrect kit to begin with. At least now with the stronger struts the hood stays open! I like the radiator cover a lot. I tried to have mine done (by a TS member no less) but it didn't turn out so great. From a distance it looks just okay, up close, not so much, so I've been thinking about doing what you're doing - just buy a new one.
  15. Hood Struts for 2013 GT350

My pleasure. We spent quite a bit of time getting the correct struts for this hood. I even sent them a video of my hood slowly descending at first only to pick up speed and slam shut had I not caught it. So the sales and back room guys are pretty familiar with this hood since this took place in Dec. Works fine now though.
  16. Hood Struts for 2013 GT350

Okay, here's the link to the replacement struts that I eventually wound up with. You might want to call them and find out the part number etc for the initial package that contains that strut. When I got these I just popped the first ones off and put these on, using the same brackets that came with the originals. Color coordinated of course. http://calponycars.com/2005-2014-mustang/940-2005-2011-90lb-gas-struts-replacement.html
  17. Signed airbag cover value?

I had 2, one for a GT and one for the 11-14 GT350. Got tired of them just sitting, doing nothing but being in a box. Decided someone should get some enjoyment out of them. The GT went to a TS member and is referenced above. The GT350 was offered but no takers at the time so it went the ebay way. These were about a year ago. It seems that the $1100 - 1300 price range is the sweet spot right now for air bag covers.
  18. Hood Struts for 2013 GT350

I have, but the first set wouldn't hold the hood up. Had to put a stronger set on and they work fine. I can search through my paperwork if you want the specifics. If I recall I got them from Cal Pony Cars, but they have to be the exact ones to work.
  19. Main Supercharger belt

If I recall correctly, the 624hp had no warranty from Ford at all for the entire car. The 525 had a 1 year warranty instead of the 3yr/36k mile warranty from Ford. SAI did provide some warranty coverage for what they did on the car. SAI was very good about taking care of us from my experience.
  20. We quit going to any of the MGM properties, and sent them our M card, when MGM Grand Properties started backing and financially supporting CAIR and the SPLC. There are too many alternatives.
  21. Insurance for High Horsepower Shelby's

I would be up front with them. You just don't want to jeopardize your liability or comprehensive coverage in case of an incident. Might raise the price a bit, but the peace of mind would be worth it I would think....IMHO
  22. Unable to renew membership

I use 'em for golf ball markers. Always a conversation piece when I mark my ball and put down something bigger in its place!
  23. Bash Cruise?

Will we be having a So Cal cruise to the Bash again this year? I know it's early but just wondering if one might be in the works. John
  24. Glad we're back up

Anyone got a users' manual?........just kidding.
  25. Glad we're back up

I know Steve said there was going to be some changes, but this is temporary, right? I noticed my sig picture is gone and I worked hard to get it back after that stupid photobucket screwed everyone.Just wondering.....?
