  1. Thanks. Love the Borla's!! I get tons of comments on how good the car sounds.
  2. I took the car out for a few glamour shots around Vancover BC this evening.
  3. Out on the street the few extra pounds of weight from the iron block makes no noticeable difference.Even on the track most drivers will not notice the difference. The extra power that the 2013-14 model has does make a huge difference!!☺
  4. I was able to weigh my 2010 a few years back and my friend weighed his 2011. Both had about half a tank of gas. His is a SVTPP car. Only a 45 lbs difference. 3865 lbs for his and 3910 lbs for mine. I wish the magazines would have tested a 2010 GT500 coupe vs a 2011 GT500 base coupe. I'm pretty sure the numbers would be very close. The upgrades with the SVTPP is what made the biggest improvement.
  5. Coming up on 5 years of ownership with my 2010 GT500 and I still love it. Never had any problems and it still feels like a new car. Springs, struts, shocks and a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports is all it takes to dramatically improve the handling.
  6. If I was in a place like Texas where the temps outside can get quite high. The first mod I would do would be a higher capacity, dual fan heat exchanger. A smaller pulley will make the supercharger spin faster and run hotter and increase the chance that your car will pull timing and nullify any gains the smaller pulley will give you. Heatsoak is a big problem with these cars when you start getting into warmer summer temperatures.
  7. You need to contact the Ford In-Vehicle Technology rep. Give then your VIN and contact info. That's what I had to do with my 2010 GT500. The info is in this link in post # 116. http://themustangsource.com/forums/f726/sync-4-4-update-536241/index6/ ....or call.... 8. ^^^^^ Better put all your money in your mattress. I wouldn't be that paranoid just yet.
  9. The 2010 model also got front suspension geometry changes and the have a better steering feel than the 2007-09. The 2011+ also got wideband O2 sensors that makes data logging with a handheld tuner a breeze. You can't really go wrong with any year of GT500. All great cars in their own right.
  10. Another cool thing is that a track you were listening to will resume from blu-tooth or USB when you get back in your car and restart it.
  11. There's a new update for Ford Sync for 2010-2014 cars with Sync. I've done the update on my 2010 GT500 and 2014 GT. Adds a bunch of cool new features like blu-tooth audio track and artist info...resume play from blu-tooth and USB..reads and sends texts (my 2010 could not do this prior to the update)...etc. Bluetooth© Connectivity Improvements: Enhanced Bluetooth phone connection stability Enabled track information to be displayed for Bluetooth-streamed media including metadata such as song title, artist name and album title More robust Message Access Profile (MAP) functionality to handle SMS reception and Text2Speach output Media Connectivity Improvements: Improved media connectivity for USB-equipped Apple devices, as well as streamlined device initialization and authentication process Previous USB or Bluetooth media source playback now resumed after ignition cycle Create an account on this Ford website for more info. Enjoy!! https://owner.ford.com/tools/account/sync-my-ride.html Track and artist info while streaming blu-tooth audio!!!

  13. You can get a certificate from Ford Show Parts. http://www.fordshowparts.com/store_contents.cfm?cart_id=05105585770111114100831043324620151503&store_id=1&dept_id=1137&product_id=6993
  14. There have been no reported failures of the redesigned BMR brackets since they were introduced in 2010. http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forums/2011-2014-mustang-talk/607018-depth-look-bmr-suspensions-s197-relocation-brackets.html#/forumsite/20799/topics/607018
  15. I'm pretty sure that you're never seen "those" brackets fail. Right from BMR...... Correct the suspension geometry in your S197 Mustang with Control Arm Relocation Brackets from BMR Suspension. Manufactured from 3/16 CNC laser cut steel plates, these bolt-in brackets provide three new mounting locations for correcting your rear suspensions anti-squat characteristics. Additionally, this newly designed bracket captures existing factory holes in three locations per side, preventing counter-rotation and eliminating the necessity for welding in all but extreme applications. The BMR Control Arm Relocation Brackets correct the vehicles instantaneous center, improving drag strip traction and handling traction during corner exiting. BMR can proudly claim that these Relocation Brackets are the only brackets in the industry that have been 1.1 sixty-foot times, BOLTED-ON! We also have many 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4 sixty-foot combinations running these same pieces. http://www.bmrsuspension.com/?page=products&productid=170
  16. No real need to weld in the current design for my application. Only the older ones had failure. If I was running serious drag rubber and launching hard I would probably weld them.
  17. Looks great!! I did that mod a couple years ago on my 2010. Much easier straight bolt in on the 2010+ cars.
  18. I installed some BMR LCA relocation brackets last month the correct the rear LCA angle. They were an easy install and work great. Latest pic from this past weekend.
  19. Got to try a launch during todays road test. Felt pretty good. Pulled fairly hard..slight spin rolling on the throttle in 1st and 2nd. Feels more planted coming out of a corner too.
  20. Correcting the LCA angle after lowering the car. LCA's should be level or angle slightly up towards the front of the car. Lowering will typically see the angle pointing down towards the front of the car causing a reduction of rear tire traction under acceleration.
  21. Thanks Grabber...on both counts. Ya pretty wet up here!! How about you guys?
  22. With help from my bud Marcus we installed the BMR LCA relocation brackets on my GT500. The passenger side took about and hour to install and required a little more cursing. The drivers side only took about 15 mins. It literally slid right into place with everything lining up perfect. The LCA's now point slightly up towards the front of the car instead of down like before. The top position worked out perfect. Gotta wait for the rain to stop so I can road test it.
  23. All I know is mine has the tight coils at the bottom and the car rides and corners amazing.
