Nation’s fastest growing Concours to commemorate major anniversary milestones

Team Shelby – The sixth annual Boca Raton Concours d’ Elegance is celebrating the upcoming 50th Anniversary of the Shelby Cobra and upcoming 100th Anniversary of Aston Martin with a tremendous commemoration on February 24 through 26, 2012 at the Boca Raton Resort & Club in Boca Raton, FL. The three-day series of extravagant events benefits Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County.

“The Boca Raton Concours d’ Elegance is setting trends,” said Jamie McDonnell, Chairman of the Boca Raton Concours d’ Elegance. “As the fastest growing Concours in the country we have made strides through our five successful years of hosting the event, including featuring some of the world’s most unique auction items, hosting some of the most renowned automotive icons and comedians in the industry, and raising more money than any other car event for a charity. We set the bar high and have a goal to bring even more exciting elements to the event each year. In 2012 we’ll be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Shelby Cobra and the upcoming 100th Anniversary of Aston Martin, which will help us reach that goal.”

The three-day 2011 Boca Raton Concours d’ Elegance, with the help of Jay Leno, made a net profit of more than $3 million after expenses for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County, and attracted more than 7,000 people from around the country. With results like these, it’s obvious that each year the Boca Raton Concours d’ Elegance grows, bringing together new supporters, introducing exciting new event components, and showcasing even more exotic and classic automobiles and motorcycles. “The Shelby Cobra and Aston Martin are automotive icons,” said Rick Case, Founder of the Boca Raton Concours d’ Elegance. “They represent years of success and sterling reputations for delivering car-enthusiasts exactly what they crave – fast cars and endurance, respectively. Throughout the history of both the Shelby and Aston Martin, they have evolved, maintaining the integrity of high performance that the brands are known for. All of these are traits the Boca Raton Concours idolizes and strives to uphold as well. And in true Concours fashion we are thrilled to honor such tremendous milestones in the car-enthusiast realm. Guests can expect to see numerous Shelby and Aston Martin vehicles and inspired additions to next year’s Concours, as we set out to make automotive history yet again.”

One of the charity season’s biggest and most influential automotive events, the 2012 Boca Raton Concours d’ Elegance spans over three-days with an exciting line-up of activities, all to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County.

Friday, February 24, 2012, the duPont Registry Live! Hangar Party kicks off the weekend. Hosted at the Boca Raton Airport, guests can indulge in tastings from some of South Florida’s hottest restaurants, preview luxury vendors featuring jewelry, art and more, and peruse a display of exotic and classic airplanes, motorcycles, boats, motor coaches, automobiles, business and private jets.

Guests will enjoy a cocktail hour with a silent auction, followed by a sit down dinner featuring a live auction with items such as the first in the country new cars and money-can’t-buy-these luxury, one-of-a-kind packages. Guests will also enjoy the presentation of the Automotive Lifetime Achievement Award and presentation of the Lee Iacocca Award. The evening concludes with a stellar performance by a renowned comedian. In years past Jay Leno, Bill Cosby, Howie Mandel, and Dennis Miller have graced the stage.

The Concours on Sunday, February 26, 2012 concludes the weekend festivities with an Automobile and Motorcycle Exhibition that spans all eras. Car and motorcycle fanatics from around the world will get to experience an automotive showcase featuring cars and motorcycles from a wide range of time periods. • 2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302 builds on the heritage of the 1970 Boss 302 with new, reflective hockey stick graphics package – first modern application on a production car

    • Also new for 2013 is heritage-inspired School Bus Yellow paint and Sterling Gray accents on Boss Laguna Seca, which delivers race-ready suspension, aerodynamic details and removed rear seat

    • Ford SYNC® connectivity system becomes a standard Boss feature for 2013, adding to a specially tuned engine, quad exhaust, brakes, suspension and design that optimize weight, aerodynamics and track performance

Boss 302 Forum – The Ford Mustang Boss 302 is all about performance, and a nod to heritage comes standard with new paint options and design details for 2013.

A new hockey stick graphic featuring reflective stripes is added to the new Boss, calling back the 1970 Boss 302. 2013 Boss 302 and Boss Laguna Seca models feature new School Bus Yellow paint, honoring Parnelli Jones’ 1970 Trans-Am championship car prepared by Bud Moore.

“Everything we did for 2013 is consistent with and links directly back to our 1970 heritage. The reflective stripes and hockey stick graphic in particular mean something to Mustang enthusiasts,” said Dave Pericak, Mustang chief engineer. “Last year, we proved the car had what it takes to perform, and this year we focused on enhancing its eye-catching looks and celebrating its history.”

The reflective stripes on Boss come to life when lights hit them, similar to how they did in 1970 on the Mustang Boss 302. The new stripe follows the classic hockey stick motif by going over the fender and extending down the body panel.

Boss Laguna Seca has new Sterling Gray accents and will be available in vintage School Bus Yellow and black paint offerings, complemented by hockey stick stripes and gray interior rear cross-brace. Gray also sets off the front grille, mirror caps and rear pedestal spoiler, while Laguna Seca rear badging and unique two-tone gray and silver wheels round out the exterior accents. Unlike the previous model, the roof will not feature colored accents.

Similar to the redesigned base Mustang lineup, the front end offers a more powerful design with a more prominent grille. A more powerful splitter and functional hood extractors add to that look. Boss Mustang has new signature lighting, with standard HID headlamps and LED-surround taillamps.

The 2013 Boss also offers a unique functional design feature in the grille with removable covers where fog lamps would be. For improved cooling on track days, the covers can be easily removed with a screwdriver.

Additionally, the rear end features a high-gloss black panel that connects the taillamps. The taillamps deliver a smoked appearance that matches up with the sinister look up front.

The new Mustang Boss includes Ford SYNC®, the voice-activated in-car connectivity system, as a standard feature. With the base SYNC package, customers enjoy the core hands-free features and services that have quickly established SYNC as a must-have technology, with more than 76 percent of current SYNC users saying they would recommend the system to others.

    Some features of SYNC include:

    • Hands-free, voice-activated calling via a Bluetooth®-connected mobile phone and control of a USB-connected digital music player

    • 911 Assist™, the automated emergency calling service that is free for the life of the vehicle

    • Vehicle Health Report, the on-demand diagnostic and maintenance information service

    Revved up and ready

The powerful Boss engine yields 444 horsepower and 380 lb.-ft. of torque, while still offering a smooth idle and low-end torque for comfortable around-town driving. A race-inspired clutch with upgraded friction materials transmits power, while a short-throw, close-ratio six-speed manual handles gear change duties.

Click here for more 2013 Boss 302 images.

Power is delivered to a 3.73-ratio rear axle using carbon fiber plates in the limited-slip differential to improve handling and longevity. For those who want even more precise control over power delivery, a torque-sensing (Torsen) limited-slip differential is available, coupled with Recaro® front seats.

In keeping with the Boss mandate to provide the best-handling Mustang ever, the already strong Mustang GT suspension system has been further refined. Higher-rate coil springs on all four corners, stiffer suspension bushings and a larger-diameter rear stabilizer bar all contribute to the road racing mission, and Boss models are lowered by 11 millimeters in front and 1 millimeter at the rear versus Mustang GT. But the real key to handling is in the adjustable shocks and struts, standard on all Boss Mustangs.

Working in concert with the suspension upgrades, Boss 302 receives unique, lightweight 19-inch black alloy racing wheels in staggered widths: 9 inches in front, 9.5 inches in the rear. The Pirelli PZero summer tires are sized specifically for each end of the car, with the front wheels receiving 255/40ZR-19 tires while the rear stays planted thanks to 285/35ZR-19 rubber.

Boss braking is also up to the challenge, using Brembo four-piston calipers acting on 14-inch vented rotors up front. In back, standard Mustang GT brakes are upgraded with a Boss-specific high-performance pad compound. The combination of vented brake shields and unique Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) tuning gives Boss drivers maximum control and rapid, repeatable fade-free stops in road and race situations alike.

    Boss 302 circa 1969-70

With styling tweaked by newly arrived Ford designer Larry Shinoda, the new-for-1969 Boss 302 sported front and rear spoilers, blacked-out hood treatment and racy side stripes for a look that screamed performance.

Beyond the bodywork, the Boss 302 didn’t disappoint. Its engine combined a four-bolt main Windsor small-block with reworked heads from the then-new 351 Cleveland engine. A forged steel crankshaft, connecting rods and pistons rounded out the reciprocating assembly. The result was a free-breathing, high-revving powerplant making what Ford claimed was 290 gross horsepower – though actual output is estimated to be significantly higher.

Ford engineers also thoroughly massaged Mustang’s suspension in an effort to meet then-boss Semon “Bunkie” Knudsen’s mandate “to build absolutely the best-handling street car available on the American market.” Stiffer springs and shocks, special sway-bar tuning, a stiffened chassis and wide tires led to the fastest Mustang ever to lap the Ford test track up to that point.

  3. 2013 Shelby GT500 Introduction

2013 Ford Shelby GT500 Debuts As Most Powerful Production V8 in the World with 650 Horsepower, Top Speed of 200+ MPH

    • New Ford Shelby GT500 is powered by an aluminum 5.8-liter supercharged V8 producing 650 horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. of torque, making it the most powerful production V8 engine in the world

    • Nearly every vehicle system has been optimized including powertrain, brakes, gearing and suspension

    • New Shelby GT500 sets a performance-driven design standard with new downforce- generating front grilles, aggressive splitter, new quad exhaust system and two new forged-aluminum wheels

    • Also new for 2013 is an optional Performance Package with SVT-designed Bilstein electronic adjustable dampers and a Torsen limited-slip differential. The offering can be coupled with a track package for all-out racetrack performance.

Team Shelby – The ultimate Ford Mustang – Shelby GT500 – raises the bar high on performance with the introduction of the new 2013 model that goes on sale next year delivering 650 horsepower and a top speed of more than 200 mph.

“SVT keeps the Shelby GT500 on the cutting edge of technology and takes muscle car performance to new heights,” said Jost Capito, director of Global Performance Vehicles and Motorsport Business Development. “We encapsulated every aspect of performance in this car – whether it’s 0-60, top speed, racetrack or quarter-mile times. Beyond that, the daily driver also will find this car perfectly fits his or her needs.”

The 5.8-liter V8 aluminum-block engine produces 650 horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. of torque, making it the most powerful production V8 in the world. The 3,850-pound car also stays exempt from the gas-guzzler tax.

Nearly every part of the powertrain has been optimized for producing the additional horsepower, including a new supercharger, new cross-drilled block and heads, updated camshaft profiles, a new carbon fiber driveshaft and upgraded clutch, transmission and axle.

A larger, more-efficient supercharger flowing more air through the engine is key to helping produce the massive 650 horsepower. The new TVS series 2300 creates 2.3 liters of displacement and is a unique design to the 5.8-liter engine.

The entire cooling system has been significantly updated on the new 5.8-liter engine. It now includes a larger cooling fan, fan shroud with high-speed pressure-relief doors, a more efficient charge air cooler, a higher-flow intercooler pump and an intercooler heat exchanger with volume increased 36 percent.

    Revised gearing

Nearly every gear on the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 was revised to manage the torque and use more of the power in a way that makes it more driver-friendly. Engineers considered more than 35 gearing combinations, finally deciding on one that delivers less torque all the way through the wheels to the ground and still enables the car to achieve fuel economy targets.

A key piece of the driveline, the six-speed manual transmission, offers upgraded gears, bearings and housing so it can properly manage the torque. The final drive ratio is now 3.31:1 for optimized overall vehicle gearing to complement the massive torque. Every gear besides fourth was optimized for competing performance metrics. The clutch has increased torque and rpm capacity and uses a dual-disc design.

“It might just seem like we’re putting a bigger engine into the car. But it’s been a balanced approach through and through,” said Jamal Hameedi, SVT chief engineer. “We’ve completely redone the car to be even more sophisticated in terms of handling and control than the prior model.”

Other keys for improved traction management include:

    • Torsen limited-slip differential:When customers order the optional Performance Package, they will get a Torsen limited-slip differential that helps the rear suspension deliver maximum torque and traction better and longer under track conditions

    • Launch control: A new launch control system lets drivers set the desired launch rpm depending on tire temperature, street surface or other conditions. Unique to SVT’s launch control is that it is integrated with both the engine control and traction control

    • Brembo braking system: A new Brembo brake system offers drivers enhanced stopping power to help keep their car under control, both on the road and the track. New six-piston calipers in front along with larger front and rear rotors help improve brake fade. New brake pads that are more aggressive also help the car achieve high deceleration and further robustness for more driver confidence

    Aero advancements

Significant aerodynamic work was done on the new Shelby GT500 to ensure the car has proper downforce for optimum performance at all speeds. Engineers were able to determine how to harness the air that was moving around and through the car to improve the cooling system, maximize downforce and minimize drag.

The front fascia and splitters were modified to handle the extreme loads at 200 mph, resulting in a car that tracks more securely and feels more planted to the road at higher speeds. It offers 33 percent more effective aero loading at 160 mph compared to the 2011 model.

    Superior ride

The new Shelby GT500’s driving dynamics have been improved, now working in concert with all the new content on the car.

Handling, all AdvanceTrac settings and steering assist levels within selectable steering have been tuned to account for the updated content. The previously available unique traction control system and electronic stability control settings help drivers achieve maximum performance on both the street and the track.

Both systems can be completely disabled in controlled track situations where maximum driver skill is utilized, or fully engaged for maximum safety during normal driving or in less-than-ideal traction conditions. Intermediate sport mode allows drivers to push their cars hard at the track without completely disabling the safety systems, permitting more aggressive driving before the traction control and electronic stability control intervene.

“We took a completely different approach with this car so drivers can choose their settings instead of a computer making the selection,” Hameedi said. “Nearly every system the driver interacts with can be tailored to his or her situation including the Bilstein electronic adjustable suspension, launch control, AdvanceTrac and steering assist levels.”

The 2013 Shelby GT500 offers two new sets of forged-aluminum wheels including a unique wheel for cars with the optional packages. The 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels are coupled with Goodyear Eagle® F1 SuperCar G: 2 tires on all vehicle configurations.

    Taking it one step further

Sometimes Ford Shelby GT500 customers want to enjoy their car on surface streets. Other times they just want to let loose on the track. Two new optional packages on the 2013 model give them the choice.

Available as part of the optional Performance Package, SVT-designed Bilstein electronic adjustable dampers are accessed on the dash with a simple push of a button. Normal mode gives customers a more comfortable ride over road irregularities. Sport mode is all about performance, delivering improved response time on the track and less body roll while cornering and pitch under braking. The Torsen limited-slip differential also comes with the Performance Package.

“The adjustable shocks let us develop our car on the track without any compromise,” said Kerry Baldori, Ford SVT Global Performance Vehicles chief engineer. “Before, we had to tune the car with street implications in mind. Now we can go as extreme as we want on the track setting and still offer the customer a comfortable ride on the road.”

Enthusiasts can upgrade their Performance Package with an additional Track Package for all-out performance. The option comes with an external engine oil cooler, rear differential cooler and transmission cooler for further durability. The coolers play an essential role in preventing crucial components from overheating under high-speed conditions.

The 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 will be built at AutoAlliance International Plant in Flat Rock, Mich.

  5. 2012 Shelby GT350 Convertible 624HP from WINDING ROAD Magazine

    <iframe width="560" height="345" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/qzuCEkA1vKY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Fleet manager Brandon Turkus was the lucky duck that got the first Winding Road ride in the Shelby GT350 this time around. He drove down to Ford HQ in Dearborn, Michigan to pick the monster convertible up, and returned to Ypsilanti with a face-bursting smile on his mug.

“Seriously, this is the most fun driving a car that I’ve had since the Ferrari 458 Italia,” crowed a bemused Turkus.

With a mind-boggling 624 horsepower on tap, and not having had our first steer yet, we were hardly in a position to argue. But, having since driven (or at least held on to) the roaring Shelby, we feel comfortable saying that, while Brandon’s comment was spiritually correct, his comparison with the 458 painted the wrong picture of the GT350 experience.

See, both the Shelby and the Ferrari are fast—that is without question—but driving the Italia at speed is a bit like creating art on the road, while driving the GT350 is more like taking someone’s virginity. In their parents’ bedroom. With the lights on. So, while both cars are, to put it blandly, fun, the Shelby experience is far more tawdry, dirty, and chest-swelling than that of the stunning Italian.

    Yep, we like this Mustang.

We like it in the way that we can’t help liking other examples of too-good-to-hate, wretched excess. Maple bacon donuts. Christina Hendricks in seven-inch heels. And 600-horsepower pony cars, with convertible roofs, racing suspensions, and twin tailpipes as loud as Jimmy Page in a subway tunnel.

If we’re honest, saying that we like the GT350 is as little surprising to us as it probably is for you to read. READ MORE HERE.

  7. Guys, Rob has mentioned this on other threads...but SAI has looked into the horn buttons and they cannot mess with the steering wheels due to government regulation issues. I would love one too but it does not looklike it can happen.

A horn button seems like such an easy idea. . .one I would LOVE to do. The NHTSA mandates that we crash an entire car first though. :angry22:

It's not that we don't want to do one - trust me, that would really finish off the interior in my book.

  8. You didn't miss anything yet. If the code for this sale doesn't work thru today then you have until July to use the following code for 10% off. And it realy is good for everything, or it was the last time I checked. This was listed in the lastest Shelby Mag.

    The code is 'SIP2010'.

To be honest, and I don't want to bash SPP, but I'm a little confused why they keep issuing codes for 10% off that last a few weeks when there is already a code for 10% off that has been good since te Shelby mag hit the news stands and is good thru July. I could understand better if the two codes could be used together for 20% off or maybe 15%.

Having said that I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. A sale is a sale and I appriceate the work of Robert and everyone else who makes it happen.

The actual 10% off from the magazine was for ShelbyStore.com, not SPP. This was, of course, before the merger. At the time the ad was taken out in that magazine, there were not any plans to merge the two together.

ShelbyPerformanceParts.com will soon come back to replace ShelbyStore.com.

  9. Make sure you bring some to the Shelby GT350 event in Oct I will buy a Blue with silver stripes one.

We won't have them in time for Tulsa

Are they the fitted kind like the MLB ones?

Not fitted. We tried that route and get toooooo many returns

  10. Excellent news Robert. Thanks for keeping us updated. Have you considered the horn button emblem to match the GT500KR fuel door emblem? From what I've heard this is available for the SGT's.

We cannot do a horn button due to NHTSA testing requirements. . .not even aftermarket. As silly as it seems (and I have PUSHED for one), it's a regulatory issue. Just even adding a "KR" at the end of the "GT500" will cost a ton on money.

Any Shelby GT ones that are out there are not real. We have to enforce trademarks and stop people from making them because it can cause legal issues.

We are working with a second manufacturer to make sill plates with CSM numbers. I would love to have a set too.

I am working on this, so it's just a matter to time now. ;)

    • Shelby Expands 2011 Shelby GT350 Line with Normally Aspirated Model

    • Engine Retuned without Supercharger

    • Demand for a Track Oriented Model and 6 speed Automatic Stimulates Option

LAS VEGAS – May 5, 2010 – Shelby American, a wholly owned subsidiary of Carroll Shelby International Inc. (CSBI:PK) will expand the 2011 Shelby GT350 program to offer a normally aspirated version aimed at competition in Sports Car Club of America events and allow the street car to be ordered with an automatic transmission. The GT350 will be offered in both normally aspirated and supercharged versions as part of a post-title program through select dealers across the United States.

The normally aspirated version of the GT350 was driven by consumer demand. SCCA racing rules typically preclude a post-title added supercharger and the stresses of a forced induction are typically too much for an automatic transmission in a high performance car.

“When we brought back the GT350, people wanted to race it like they did with our Shelby GT,” said Shelby American Founder Carroll Shelby. “Others asked for an automatic transmission. So we’re dropping the supercharger, retuning the engine and adding an automatic. This gives people more choices with the GT350.”

One of the goals for the Shelby GT350 is for it to be eligible for Sports Car Club of America racing, much like the 2007-2008 Shelby GT. Those piloting a Shelby GT dominated the top spots in both the women’s and men’s F stock class with Sam Strano capturing the national championship last year.

“The GT350 is a street car that is perfect for track day and solo racing activities,” added John Luft Shelby president. “Beginning with the small block Ford Mustang GT, we worked with Ford Racing, Borla, Goodyear and Baer to create a car that should be competitive right out of the box.”

The GT350 is an enthusiast’s dream. It is powered by the 5.0 liter V8 coupled to a 6 speed transmission. The front calipers are Shelby 6-piston and 14” rotors with ERADISPEED rotors on the back and cooling ducts for all four corners. The suspension features new Ford Racing springs, struts, sway bars and adjustable caster/camber plates. The Goodyear 19” tires are a new, aggressive compound.

Each GT350 will be clad in traditional white with Shelby Guardsman blue Le Mans stripes. The car also receives a new front fascia, tail light trim, front splitter, rear deck lid filler panel and rear fascia. Functional scoops are located on the side rockers and hood. GT350 badges on the outside and inside include a Shelby serial number.

“We plan to have development finished and begin building normally aspirated versions of the GT350 by late summer,” said Shelby American vice president of production Gary Davis. “This ensures that the car will be fully sorted and ready for fun on the street or track.”

The Shelby GT350 is a post title program based on the new Ford Mustang GT. A customer purchases a car from a local Ford dealer, which is turned into a GT350 by the Shelby American Team. A limited number will be built in the 2011 model year. A Ford Mustang GT can be dropped shipped by a Ford dealer to Shelby’s Las Vegas facility for conversion or a customer can arrange to have a properly specified car transported to the factory.

The price for the normally aspirated GT350 upfit package is $26,995.00 plus any options, not including the base Ford Mustang GT. The supercharged version of the GT350 post title package by Shelby American has a MSRP of $33,995 and does not include the price of the base car.

Customers interested in either a supercharged or normally aspirated GT350 should call (702) 942-7325 or log onto gt350.shelbyamerican.com.

Name Change Honors Anniversary of Two Legendary Shelby Cars

Team Shelby (Las Vegas) – Dec. 15, 2009 – Shelby Automobiles, a wholly owned subsidiary of Carroll Shelby International Inc. (CSBI:PK), will honor the 45th anniversary of the 427 Cobra and Shelby G.T.350 by consolidating its operations under the Shelby American banner. Carroll Shelby founded the original Shelby American in 1962 to create the legendary sports cars and muscle cars that forever changed the performance world, and it is only fitting that Shelby Automobiles join the original team.

“Enthusiasts have asked us many times to bring back the Shelby American name over the past several years,” said Shelby. “Though I’m proud of the cars that we built as Shelby Automobiles, we’re fulfilling that wish for fans worldwide. Using the Shelby American name will better connect our current vehicles to our heritage of building great cars like the G.T.350 and Cobra.”

One of America’s greatest race car drivers, Shelby dominated sports car racing in the mid-1950s, including a victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. After retiring from racing due to a heart ailment, he founded Shelby American to manufacture performance cars. His band of hot rodders created the legendary Cobra sports car in 1962. Three years later, they unveiled a big block version of the Cobra.

About that same time, Ford asked Shelby to turn the Mustang into a dominant muscle car. The Shelby team put Mustang at the pinnacle of the performance world with the Shelby G.T.350 and Shelby G.T.500.

Shelby American also offered high performance parts, modified cars for individuals and was involved in racing. From drag strip triumphs to victories at Le Mans and America’s first World Manufacturer’s Championship, Shelby cars dominated performance circles.

“We’re still building genuine Shelby Cobras and have been involved in some of the most exciting Ford Mustangs ever to wear a Shelby badge,” added Amy Boylan, president of Shelby American. “With the anniversary of Shelby American’s two most revered models, it’s the right time to return to our roots through a name change. And just like the 1960s, the Shelby American name will soon appear on one of the most exciting vehicles we’ve ever built.”

Since 2006, Shelby Automobiles has been building small and big block Cobras. The company also worked with Ford Motor Company to build 1,571 total 2008 and 2009 Ford Shelby GT500KRs and approximately 5,500 total 2007-2008 Ford Shelby GT Mustangs. Shelby Automobiles also built 500 Shelby GT-H coupes in 2006 and 500 Shelby GT-H convertibles in 2007 for the Hertz Corporation.

Shelby American will continue to offer the small block street (CSX8000), FIA (CSX7000) and big block Cobras (CSX6000). The company also will offer the Super Snake, Prudhomme drag racing edition and “SE” post-title package for the 2007-2010 Ford Shelby GT500. Fans can also have a post-title Terlingua Racing Team package installed on 2005-2009 V6 Ford Mustangs or the “SR” package for 2005-2009 Ford Mustang GTs. The Shelby “SC” and “SR” post title packages are also available for the 2007 and 2008 Shelby GT.

  15. Has anybody else tried to order one of these?

My wife has been trying to order some for my garage for over a year now... Every time she calls, she is told that they are "out of stock", no matter which ones she asks for. 2 months ago, she thought she finally had one ordered, then our payment was returned because they "were no longer producing that sign". I was so frustrated that they advertised these in the magazine, but never could actually produce one of these for us.

Now I see that there are NO neon signs in the new Shelby catalog, so I am worried that I will never be able to get my hands on one...

ShelbyStore.com doesn't sell neon signs - they are available through SPP and the Merch. Catalog.

Team Shelby – Nov. 3, 2009 – Shelby Automobiles, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Carroll Shelby International Inc., (CSBI.PK) unveiled a Super Snake Ford F150 concept today at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Based on the popular Shelby GT500 Super Snake, the post-title package for the 2003-2008 F150 upgrades the truck’s handling, styling and power.

“Carroll Shelby pioneered the muscle truck segment over 20 years ago,” stated Amy Boylan, president of Shelby Autos. “Our team built this concept F150 Super Snake to see if the public is ready for another high performance Shelby truck. We took the same approach to this project as we do for every Shelby. With its ‘look at me’ styling, earth shattering power, stop-on-a-dime brakes and go cart-like handling, it’s a balanced performance truck that’s as desirable to drive as it is to look at.”

Shelby Autos teamed with Ford Racing and top suppliers such as Borla and Baer to develop the concept. The red 2007 F150 regular cab truck features a custom functional hood and fascias, black Super Snake stripes and Alcoa Shelby wheels. The 5.4L engine was tweaked to churn out 475 horsepower through the automatic transmission while 6 piston Shelby brakes were added to stop the beast. The suspension was lowered 3 inches and tightened up to improve handling.

Enthusiasts can choose to have the entire package applied to their truck for the ultimate Shelby. However, the styling and the power/handling upgrades can also be installed individually.

“We’ll install the Super Snake package for the F150 at the Shelby Autos facility in Las Vegas,” added Gary Davis, Shelby Autos vice president of production. “In order to maintain the high level of quality and performance demanded by real enthusiasts, we’ll only build a few thousand per model year.”

The Ford F150 Super Snake post title package includes:

    • Whipple supercharger kit

    • Borla exhaust system

    • DJM suspension

    • 3.73:1 rear axle ratio

    • Shelby-designed 22-inch wheels and tires with Pirelli P Scorpion tires
