  1. It will fit in the well, but it will be too tall for the floor to stay completely flush. I've had a full sized original wheel in there since getting the car, but i dont carry stuff around in the trunk, so the uneven floor isnt a big deal.
  2. Have fun! Wish I was there, I've landed at that airstrip on my fini flight upon retirement from the AF. It is gorgeous up there, a great place for speed!
  3. They've had that posted for awhile, but they don't have them anymore. If you add them to your cart, it tells you that the item isn't available. Seems like it's too much trouble for them to take them off the website.
  4. Sorry, but Gump got them. Least I know they went to a good TS home.
  5. Not sure what the keys on the 2011 look like, but I've got a spare set of these that fit the 05-09 keys. Let me know if you might be interested, I was gonna put'em on ebay anyway.
  6. So, as you intend to lecture me about my position of authority, let me be clear; I have never and will never claim to be an expert on things automotive and or SHELBY. Although reading through your posts throughout many pages in this forum, I'd say that shoe seems to be on the other foot. I've spent over 21 years of my life defending the freedoms to have productive and sometimes non-productive arguments such as these. So before you purport to inform me that I need to listen, understand that I have been, and will continue to do so. Now, can we simply get back to enjoying our SHELBYS?
  7. "2007red40thGT500" post= "i agree with you. pre-title makes them unique, but not more special or better, which is invariably what lots of misinformed people on here reduce the discussion to. its incredibly irritating to read people make preposterous claims that are really based on opinions..." Your words, not mine... Now from thesarus.com.... Main Entry: unique Part of Speech: adjective Definition: one-of-a-kind; without equal Synonyms: anomalous, best, exceptional, extraordinary, far-out, incomparable, inimitable, matchless, most, nonpareil, novel, only, peerless, primo, rare, singular, something else, SPECIAL, standout, strange, uncommon, unequaled, unexampled, unimaginable, unmatched, unparagoned, unparalleled, unprecedented, unreal, unrivaled, utmost Antonyms: like, similar, standard, trite Besides, the only person that has ever said that their car was more a Shelby than someone elses, was you. SGT owners will always have that one little thing that truly does make their Shelby unique, if that bothers you...that's not our issue. Now, back to the actual question, Why do I (opinions implied) like the SGT so much? Because it's flawed in all the right ways...

  9. Maybe the link below is the place that your opinion should be posted. http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/index.php/topic/87264-how-much-do-you-love-your-07-09-gt500/page-4?do=findComment&comment=1650892 So far I haven't seen anyone on the linked discussion talking about what makes their car superior to anything else, just what they love about their GT500 I believe that the OP on this discussion asked the question, "why do I like the SGT so much?" Since Carroll Shelby is why these cars exist in the first place, maybe you'd be better served appreciating that he designed (built, modded, influenced...whatever your take on that is) cars that we can all love for our own personal reasons. Off the shelf Ford parts put on by a hot rodder is how the original GT350 came about. There wasn't alot of engineering by Ford on those, other than a certain spec Carroll wanted, so would you at least concede that the history being repeated in the SGT is reason enough to make it "special" to it's owners?
  10. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that the OP meant that his car had "extra," or replacement stripes that were in the trunk. With the way that people bump into things, that would've been nice no matter what the model!!
  11. This is good info, but what ever happens to the requests you make on the "contact us" link on the SPP website? I know that the email on my account is current because I still get plenty of "offers" but I've yet to receive any response using that link. I'm usually a phone call kind of guy anyway, but just wondering.
  12. Since this topic did go slightly sideways, and as usual some people got their feelings hurt about the lineage of their cars. Truth is that colaborations between automakers ebb and flow throughout their lifespan. The GT500 was a colaboration between the man and Ford's SVT arm. SAI did the same thing that Carroll did in the 60s by taking cars directly from Ford and modifying. I believe this is where the differences in opinion of "which colaborations came first" starts. Ford colaborated with Carroll for the GT40, but SAI also took Ford to court to protect the GT350 nameplate in the 80s....does that mean they colaborated? BL...while Carroll was on this earth he designed, built, modified, and sold all kinds of cars. if it says Shelby on it, you can bet it had his fingerprints on it, and you should be proud to own one. For me, the SGT is a "continuation" of the way that Carroll did it the first time around, so it will be special to me, is it a first gen? There was never just a Shelby GT before, so I'm inclined to say yes, but I like the lines, and it's mine...so who else matters?
  13. Saw this and thought it was entertaining. Hey, I guess you do what you've gotta do, right?
  14. Gary, here's a thread about your number 4, http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/index.php/topic/48584-my-new-berg-steering-wheel-emblem/?view=findpost&p=1019751&hl=%2Bsteering+%2Bwheel+%2Bcenter In the end I found that the Saleen center cap, and a 69-70 wheel center cap did the trick with the least effort/cost. If you're interested in that ave, pm me, I've got a couple extras.
