  1. When I purchased a High Performance Radiator for my 2007 GT-500, it came with a 170 degree thermostat. I installed the radiator, but not the thermostat. Car is not tracked, but live in hot Texas. Should I install it, and what will be the advantages if I do? Also the thermostat housing looks like a finely machined surface. Is there a gasket between these surfaces? Also, I understand I should adjust the cooling fan limits. What are those limits? Thanks.

  3. My wife and I spent the last few days in and around Nashville. LOVE IT! South of the city is the place to live. Franklin, Bel Meade. Nice brick houses with land.
  4. mikesdream, Make sure you go over the East fence and not the South fence.
  5. The Hill Country is west of Austin and San Antonio. Nice area. Real Estate is affordable. Can find nice homes on large lots. Most lots out of the towns are Well water and septic systems. No good paying jobs. No Malls for the Wifey. Would have to drive to Austin or San Antonio for work and upscale shopping. Perfect if you plan to retire. Alot of Car People. Not sure what your income is, but if you are upper middle class or lower upper class or above, the areas in the western Austin Suburbs, if that is what you want to call them, are really really nice. You can get anything you would like for between 600K - 1.2 million. Shopping, lakes, resturants -all there. Austin 20 minutes away. Night life and weekends in Austin are the best. My wife and I live in Austin and are empty nesters. We would move to that area, except it is just the two of us so we stay in our little house in Austin.
  6. Randy, I live in Texas. Where is the most ideal place to live in Texas? In this order - Austin, San Antonio, Dallas- Ft Worth, then Houston. Many many nice smaller cities and towns How is the weather (is it seasonal)? Weather nice 300 days per year in all locations. Summer days are hot, but nights are great. How are the schools (I have three school-age kids: 7, 10, 13). Schools in the cities suck. Suburbs are OK. How is the traffic? Austin traffic sucks, the other places have traffic but a great road network. What is the cost of living like? Not too bad considering how nice Texas is. I think about 5-9% above national average. Housing affordable? Very afordable relative to California. Are there any hi-tech centers in Texas? Austin is the second larest Hight Tech Center in the country. Are the taxes high? No State income tax. Property taxes in Austin are fairly high. DFW not too bad, not sure about SA and Houston. Alot of Mexicans and losers gravatate to Texas, but it is a great place to live. I came from PA and would never leave Texas. Wasn't born here, but got here as fast as I could. I believe it would be a good move to get the hell out of California and move to Texas. Dave 2007 GT-500
  7. I have the KR CAI and tune on my 07 GT-500. Is it sucking air from the hot engine compartment? How can I mitigate this?
  8. I am getting ready to install the 13-14 pump on my 2007 GT-500. Be interested to know if this will be an issue, after reading Robert M's post. Be interested in hearing from people who have done this swap. Thanks.
  9. Larry T - The link you sent me was the ticket. Thanks. Got things half way back together this afternoon.
  10. Larry T, Thank you. This link is great. I will give it a shot.
  11. I am installing the C&R High Capacity radiator in my 2007 GT-500. It is a fairly tight fit and I am having issues getting it past the AC hard lines on driver's side. If I could get past this AC line, I would be set. Is there a trick? Please help, Fan is not on new radiator and everything I could possibly loosen to gain some flex has been loosened. I am totally frustrated. Thank you in advance.
  12. I am installing the GT-500KR lower grill with the brake cool duct bezels and cut outs, but not the entire brake cooling kit. Should I leave the cut outs open or plug them up? I plan on installing the kit down the road when I can find the OEM KR one. Also, until I install the kit, I was toying with the idea of running hoses to cool maybe the transmission or oil pump, or something along that line. Thoughts? Thanks.
  13. The motors are pretty stout already. I am far from being an expert, but in my humble opinion I would go with handling and braking first; engine and SC cooling next; then clutch, one piece drive shaft and MGW Gen II Shifter, then GT-500KR tune and CAI; then you can move on to the engine. On my 07 GT-500, I did things slow and deliberate worked the bugs out on mods then moved on to the next thing.
  14. I ordered the 13/14 radiator fan/shroud assy today. I have my current pump mounted in front of the right wheel well, and will install the 13/14 pump in same place. I thank all you for the information.
  15. Do I need both wiring assemblies, or just one of them? Great info from both posts. Thanks.
