  1. Strap wrench was a must on mine ! Did use the retainer as well.
  2. My wife talked me into buying a "much nicer" Mustang than the new 2010 GT we drove when they came out. She said buy whatever you want but it needs to be more "eye catching than this", this one is boring ! Go figure, so I found my 07, put a bunch of money into it, paid it off and now I have my 2013 GT500 which she wont drive since its " to much power and real loud". Maybe I should get another one LOL !!
  3. It depends on what you want to do with it. I have a 13 and spent $1500 on some pulleys, CAI, SCT X4 tuner had it dyno tuned and I'm at 670 at the wheels. Cheap money to make most cars that want to mess with you on the road gasp for air. A recent trip on the highway made a Challenger SRT 392 never want to mess with a Shelby again ! Tires and rims will always change the look as well. Do the mods for your taste, not others. Most people keep their Shelby stock so the ones that are modified usually are very nice. Keep every stock part you take off for later down the road if you want to return to stock or sell. Good luck.
  4. As a professional detailer, that is the kiss of death !! NO blades scratching across paint and please NO California dusters either !! Use a Master Blaster or IF you have to, a leaf blower. It amazes me how people send $40,50, 60 thousand on a car and use crap to take car of it. Oh well, it keeps the money coming in.
  5. Very nice numbers !! I am doing the VMP TB next. All I heard are nothing but good things about this TB. Fit and finish look excellent.
  6. The fact that most people would not spend the time to polish their 5.8 emblems is exactly why I polished them instead of painting them. Its all in the details. How do I get that rusty egr valve off , man that looks bad !

  9. It might have but wasn't going to take that approach having never done it before. The logos are part of the lines on the supercharger, everything needed to be taped off in fear of hitting those lines and scratching them. If I did there was no going back to recoat the epoxy from the factory, so using any type of tool other than my hand was not going to work. It was a one shot deal with this, so I did my best with no tools.
  10. Be very careful !! In a perfect world your stripes will come off in large pieces, but the majority wont. Picking those edges up on the little pieces of tape left with a razorblade should be done by a professional or you will have little marks in your paint. I had the stripes (vinyl) taken off my 07 GT and had them painted on, looks awesome, but it was a lot of work.
  11. After a long winter of cold and snow and with plenty of time to play with my Mustangs in the garage, I decided to do some upgrades to my Shelby. After adding some new Moroso tanks and covers, strut tower caps, JLT catch can, GT500 coil covers from the Shelby store, (Steeda springs and Hawk pads are ready to go on next week) etc etc., I wanted to pull it all together by painting the logos on my supercharger in blue to match the engine bay mods I did. So I brought the car to my paint guy and had him paint the logos. When completed, neither of us liked it. It seemed to much, didn't flow with the other mods in our opinion. So he told me that I could sand down the logos with sandpaper and the will polish up like my other mods under the hood! With no experience doing this before with sanding aluminum, I taped around the logos, grabbed the 2 sanding blocks I have, and went to scratching away at the aluminum. I used 220 grit, then went to 400,600 800, 1000, 1500,2000,2500, and finished it with 3000 grit paper. After about 10 hours, a lot of nerves, here are some before and after pics of my project. I might go at it one more time but after 10 hours I had enough !
