  1. So in Delaware which is not quite as strict as California for emissions, shouldn’t be an issue. So my choices would be upgrade a low mileage SGT with a Paxton or get a low mileage 07-09 GT500 and upgrade the suspension
  2. There has been a wealth of knowledge given in this thread and is greatly appreciated. There are a lot of 2007-2009 cars out there with more reasonable prices. The question is how much money is would take to do the suspension, chassis and brake upgreades. I favor white or blue cars which that is what I mainly see.
  3. Can anyone explain the Paxton and certificate issues? New to Shelby’s and thinking about getting a SGT and adding a SC for DD.
  4. Why do you say 2011 doesn’t have much demand? I don’t see many on the market?

  8. I’m only considering Shelby’s. 2007 GT/CS and 2011 GT500. Both around 12k miles. $30k for the GT/SC and $36k for GT500. The GT500 has some other goodies like gps and dual climate control. Both great condition. Sorry I did not clarify this earlier as I’ve narrowed my search through test drives.

  10. Both cars are manual. One five speed and the other six speed. :2011 much different than 2007 and 2008 GT500s.
  11. I’ve narrowed my choices to a 2007 GT/SC and 2011 GT500. Both have more than enough power and I will be no further modding. How would the the two compare as far as handling. I’ll be doing some highw and some back road driving. Test drove both but really didn’t get a true feel in the short time and distance I tested. Thanks
  12. Yesterday I test drive a 2007 and 2011 GT500. In the market for a used Shelby. Both were really nice, however I could really tell a difference in handling in the 2011. There must have been a lot of improvements in the suspension beyond the lighter front end. Car was only 12k miles. However under the hood was clean but you can see the aluminum block not looking so pretty. High humidity definitely caused some corrosion. Everything else under the hood was perfect. I know I’ve added some aluminum parts to my 67 and the same thing happened and it’s garaged. What are others experiences and did you do anything to correct it? Thanks Pete

  14. Good points. I like the authenticity of it even though it’s not a future value thing for me. Just nice knowing. Then I think if I get a regular GT that in the end I minght want a little extra grunt and why not purchase right up front.

  16. So my goal is to own a Shelby. I love the GTs. Not sure if 319hp is where I want to be. I wasn’t even thinking of SC until I test drove a 2008 Rousch. Then my eyebrows lifted. Just nice to kick in. I know of one GT that has been converted to a GT/SC with 10k miles for $28k and excellent shape. So it is buy that one or one that has 5600 miles without SC for $23k. Seems like a good value going with the GT/SC.
  17. How many have actually converted their GTs to GT/SC through a local dealership or shop? Is that a popular thing to do if you do not leave close to Las Vegas? I know there has to be some that would like to make the conversion through SAI but may not have the resources. Thanks
  18. Still honing down the car I want. Does a converted 2007 GT that was converted by the Ford dealership to a GT/SC hurt the value of the car? I found one with 10k miles for $28k. Or would it be better to jus buy a GT500 for similar dollars but maybe 25-30k miles? thanks Pete
  19. That’s what I thought. I’ve been looking but haven’t found a lot with lower mileage for those years. Looking at Craigslist Autotrader Edmunds. I”ll keep looking.
  20. Hey Folks I have s question for the experts. I’ve come across a 2011 Shelby GT 500. It’s white with blue stripes. Really nice interior black seats with blue stripe. 12k miles. Price dropped from $37.5 to $36.5. Is that a fair price. I can get older ones for less but want to avoid clutch issues with early models. Im not a big spender and would like a newer toy since I can’t take out the 67 Fastback (non Shelby) in less desirable weather. Actually struggling spending more than $25k but this one looks nice Thanks Petd

  22. Steven One I am big on right now is the plain GT. I like the body style on those. After test driving a non Shelby 2007 Rousch, the supercharger was nice. In reality the extra hp is not necessary. Looking at some used GT500’s, I was thinking for about $7k more I could get into a GT500 and have both the Shelby and the supercharger. I like the looks of the 2007-2012. Really good deals this time of the year. Clutch issues and rear ends bumping around on back roads and twisted is pointing me back to the regular GT. No drag racing in my future. Pete
  23. Thanks QuickSilverShelby. I like that the GTs were built in Las Vegas like your GTH. How did the drive compare to each other? How did the comfort compare. I’m looking for a weekend fun car. No drag racing, but I’ll like to punch it from now and then.
