  1. I got my kit the other day and I too got a new membership number. Went from 198 to 5269. I sent an email to Brianna, but haven't heard anything back. I would really like to keep my original membership number. Any ideas whom to contact?
  2. I agree wholeheartedly, Steve. What price can you put on your peace of mind? The service manager knew all about torqueing the filter to proper spec, and already was aware of the oil cooler hose recall. As far as the hose is concerned, on another forum they've mentioned that it would start to leak before it actually detaches. As a result, I've gotten into the habit of checking the oil pressure gauge on a regular basis when driving.
  3. So, I had a bit of a shock when I took my car in for her first oil change: Ten quarts of 5w 50 full synthetic oil at $19.99 per quart, new filter -- $34.00 Total with tax was $273! Worth it of course to keep this great car running at peak power and efficiency, but still shocking nonetheless. Scott
  4. All Team Shelby members in the Northern Virginia area are cordially invited to join the Northern Virginia Mustang Club on a cruise through scenic Northern Virginia on National Mustang Day -- April 17th. We will meet up in Manassas and cruise for lunch at Grave's Mountain Lodge in the Shenandoah Mountains. After an "all you can eat" buffet lunch, we'll cruise back taking a different route and stopping by the Carousel, a 50's style ice cream stand. As of this moment, we have about 20 members signed up to participate, but all are welcome. Check us out on Facebook or at www.northernvirginiamustangclub.com. Also, fee free to PM me for additional details. Scott
  5. In comparison to my 2007 GT500, I would say the accelleration in the GT500 was slightly better, probably due to the supercharger. As far as ride quality and handling go, the GT350 is much better -- there is almost no comparison. It really hugs the road on the turns and handles much better than the GT500.
  6. I'm a long time Team Shelby member (#198), but last year I sold my GT500 and haven't been very active here. Last Thursday, I "came back to the fold" when I purchased a new Avalanche Grey GT350. I totally love the car! Scott
  7. My local dealer has a 50th Anniversary Mustang on their showroom floor. The car looks nice and the cashmere seats are neat looking. The MSRP on the sticker was just over $46K, but the dealer added a $25000 ADM for a final price of $71000! Unbelievable!
  8. Here's a link to a picture from the same event -- the 2005 NY Car Show. You can see the vents in the hood. http://www.beaumontenterprise.com/photos/article/A-man-and-his-Shelby-Cobra-3552451.php#photo-2925861
  9. My wife and I live in Manassas, VA, and although it's not exclusively Shelby owners, we enjoy taking part in activities with the Northern Virginia Mustang Club. http://www.northernvirginiamustangclub.com They have drag days out at Mason Dixon Dragway in Maryland, go to shows in the area, and participate and host cruises. It doesn't cost anything to join, and they hold every other Saturday meetings out near the Dulles Expo Center. Check it out and stop by for a meeting. They're a great bunch of people with a diversity of cars and interests. --Scott
  10. I may have the pdf somewhere. I installed this on my wife's GT several years ago. All in all, it was a pretty straightforward installation. Here is an article from Mustang Monthly: http://www.mustangmonthly.com/howto/mump_1001_how_to_install_a_shelby_kicker_stereo_upgrade/ Here's another "How to" article: http://www.autotraderclassics.com/car-article/Kicker+Livin’+Loud-71975.xhtml Scott
  11. Renewed on December 22nd. Received on January 7th. Can't complain about that! I kind of liked the t-shirts though.
  12. Looks even better than the 2013 calendar. I'm in!
  13. Joined in May 2006 when it was Stangs Unleashed. Lots of good times, starting with the 85th Birthday Bash! My member number has always been 198.
  14. #198 still here mostly lurking. I still have the grabber orange t-shirt and membership card, but can't find my sticker.
