  1. Are there any hoods left? And what would be an approximate price for shipping to Southern California? (I might as well just pick it up in Vegas!)
  2. EDIT: the pictures on the install work now: http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-forums/threads/the-avic-d3-is-installed-lots-of-pictures.731487/#post-7258637 Ok, I found my Pioneer install thread, but the linked pictures are not working. If you want to at least look at the album without the how-to info, here's a link. If you have any questions about the install, let me know! http://s19.beta.phot... and XM antenna
  3. Let me find my Pioneer Nav/Shaker 1000 install thread.. In short, any aftermarket Nav unit will outperform a factory unit, and will allow you more 'options' - bypassing certain functions, etc.
  4. Completely normal.. My SGT with 30,000 miles on it has always done it if it sits too long. Just the other day I drove the car for the first time in a month or so, and there was a nice puff of blue smoke. You'll probably find lots of youtube videos on the subject.
  5. Avoid this dealership like the plague! I've tried to buy cars there twice in the past and they are notorious for false ads. It's sad that someone might have traded this in.
  6. Here's something to consider about post-title vs pre-title: people buy cars on a whim. I bought my Shelby GT by simply walking into a dealership to return a brake caliper core. I was about 21 at the time, and paid sticker for it, without a markup. Could that happen now? No. Well, maybe with a GT500 - but too much power, and a much higher price. Or maybe with a Boss, but I don't care for the new ones. If I had to plan out a Shelby purchase (buy the base car, have it sent to SAI, pay for everything, etc.), there'd be too much time to 'sleep on it'. If I had time to think over my decision to purchase the '07 SGT, I wouldn't have bought it (come on, I was 21 and in college). Last month, I was in the market for a Fusion or Focus. I was really set on the new Focus, or would have settled on a base Fusion. In reality, I ended up getting a loaded Fusion SE because it was all that was on the lot. My point - most people buy cars on a whim, regardless of research or decisions made in advance. If I were to walk into a dealership and had the option of buying a stock 5.0, a GT500, a Boss 302, or a newer version of the SGT, I'd go for the SGT. But here's another thought (or two): I really don't care for the new GT350s (sorry, I think the back is overdone, and the grill is too small). The GTS' are weak looking - sorry - they just seem 'soft' compared to the Shelby GTs. Really, nothing catches my eye like an '07/'08 SGT - they nailed it with the ride height, colors, stripes, etc. If you were to bring back the Shelby GT line (which I'm all for), spend some time trying to emulate the '07 'theme' of the car. As for price, it has to be less than a GT500.
  7. As long as the 6-speed manuals are still made in China, then absolutely. Newer is better, right? (are the 2013s still coming with Chinese transmissions?) I've seen Boss 302s in person, and they just don't catch my attention as much as Shelby GTs/GT500s - but that's personal preference. Are any of you guys paying off your Shelbys, or owning them outright? Or are you all just going for the next best thing? Not to be rude, but my Shelby is paid for, and I plan on keeping it.
  8. Interestingly, I saw this car on eBay while finding a convertible for my dad. As soon as I saw your title, I knew what to expect. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/?cmd=ViewItem&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649&item=260986073276&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT#ht_24912wt_1165 Regardless, I did end up finding this car north of LA; it didn't come with the Shelby package, though. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/?cmd=ViewItem&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649&item=110858239092&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT#ht_6681wt_1165
  9. Nice! I would have left it for a while.. with your red fender stripes, and silver stripes, the colors all complement each other.. On the other hand, at least you got a Noble.. or is that a Nordmann? Much better than the Douglas firs.
  10. Yes - the 'racing' stripes only, not the rocker stripes. I did get a new, complete rocker stripe for the driver's side when the rear quarter got painted - they only had to use the quarter panel piece. As for the new stripes from Shelby - I mentioned that the dealership 'burned' one of my hood stripes when they detailed the car (in front of the scoop on the passenger stripe you can see it). Because of this, my warranty expiring, and the history of SGT stripes, they got me a brand new set before I left. I'm going to try to hold on to them as long as possible - sure, I could sell them, but that wouldn't be fair to the Shelby employees who gave them to me. Plus, the day I sell them/give them away, my stripes will oxidize.
  11. Yeah, when my 36/36 was about to expire, I took my car to Vegas for a new scoop. While there, I was given a brand new set of vinyl stripes - I did not have them installed since mine still looked pretty damn good (and they still look good today). My car has almost 30k on it and I don't have any rust issues on my stripes, or fading/chalking. Since day one, I've always dried my car with 'wax as you dry' from Eagle One - maybe that has helped?
