  2. April 2-8 2016 is going to be an AMAZING week in Texas. We will start out at the fantastic Cruise-In at Cabelas in Buda on Saturday and then we will drive some of the absolute best driving roads in Texas, taking in the sights of the beautiful spring flowers, including the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower center and Wild Seed Farms. We will stop in Luckenbach, spend the night at an airport, explore a museum at a different airport, stay on a lake and then on a river, conquer the Three Sisters Loop and then have the option of spending 2+ days at what has been called the "best hunting ranch in the world" to hand feed giraffes, play with our cars on a 5000' paved runway, race jetskis, swim, do a photo safari, explore caves, shoot machine guns and .50cal rifles and lots more on the 18,000 acre Ox Ranch. The Three Sisters Loop (Ranch Road 335,336 & 337) are widely considered to be among the BEST driving roads in Texas. The lakes and rivers will be our almost constant backdrop for the trip. The fall rains and long term forecast of a nice, cool and wet winter promises to provide a STUNNING wildflower show for next spring! The lodging and food will be spectacular (as ALWAYS!) and you will not be disappointed in either. From an 85 year old restaurant know around the world for their desserts to steaks to the best Southern "comfort" food around, you will not go hungry on this trip. From the fantastic Hanger Hotel to beautiful Frio River cabins and hotel lodging right on a lake this is will be an AMAZING trip! A little bit about our time at Ox Ranch: All lodging, meals and even top shelf drinks are included for our 2 1/2 day stay. You will see hundreds, if not thousands of animals. Explore caves, take ATV tours, Jet Ski, swim, hike, archery, rappelling, fishing, kayaking, and lots more are all included. Driving a Sherman tank or Russian BMP as well as shooting machine guns are available for an extra cost. Some of the animals you can see include: Deer - Axis, Barasingha, Eld’s Deer, Elk, Fallow Deer, Manchurian Sika, Pere David’s Deer, Red Stag, Sika, White Elk, Whitetail Antelope - Addax, Arabian Oryx, Blackbuck, Black Wildebeest, Blesbok, Blue Wildebeest, Bongo, Dama Gazelle, Eland, Gemsbok, Kudu, Nile Lechwe, Nilgai, Nyala, Red Lechwe, Roan, Sable, Scimitar Horned Oryx, Sitatunga, Springbok, Waterbuck Sheep/Goat - Aoudad, Black Hawaiian, Corsican, Four Horned Jacob, Himalayan Tahr, Mouflon, Painted Desert, Red, Texas Dall, Catalina, Ibex, Markhor Buffalo & Bovine – Buffalo (Bison), Water Buffalo, Watusi, White Buffalo, Zebu Others & Birds – Javelina, 400lb Pig, Wolf, Camel, Kangaroo, Zebra, Giraffe, Emu, Ostrich, Rhea, Turkey (BOLD are just some of animals that you can get up close to, feed and/or pet) AND MORE! 4. Howdy All, The San Antonio Shelby Club is looking to have a Fall Foliage cruise and I am looking for assistance and participation to help make this a successful event. I'd like to have Team Shelby Members from around the state join in as it is supposed to be beautiful during Oct - Nov time frame. While I have some initial thoughts below, I am open to all suggestions and look forward to feedback. Right now I am thinking about going through this route: http://goo.gl/maps/h5M6D on Nov 7-9th. I was hoping that if anyone knew they area they could provide input on better locations to cruise through, coordination with the community college, good locations to enjoy the scenery, maybe a cruise past Carroll's home, etc... We would drive up Friday afternoon/evening, cruise Saturday and head back home on Sunday. I am working with La Quinta and Hampton Inn to lock in a good room rate, and right now I am getting between $65 and $75 a night. We have a couple months to iron out the details and I this can be a great chance to gather our region together. Brad Taylor San Antonio Shelby Club President btaylor10135@gmail.com 210.677.9355
