He wanted to create a club for people to truly enjoy their cars. He knew the world had changed, and he wanted his companies to meet the needs of the new generation of Shelby owners. His vision was to knit together those people with the owners of early Shelby's and give everyone fun new ways to experience their high performance vehicles.   Mr. Shelby imagined a place where owners could talk about their latest conquests at the track, swap stories, share photos and learn new ways to hot rod their cars! He wanted to link all of the enthusiasts into one "dream garage"... thus, Team Shelby was born!   Team Shelby has many free, open access forums, news sections and member only areas dedicated to the community.   In addition, Team Shelby has a full series of events for 2019, which include VIP Experiences, track days, National & Regional gatherings, cruises, car shows and more! Ownership of a Shelby is not required to be a member. The club is dedicated to serving all Shelby enthusiasts past and present including those that own cars built in the 1960's and Shelby Dodges too! We’ll have a blast and we'll do it the Shelby way!   Yearly Membership Rates   U.S. $49.99 | Canada & Mexico $59.99 | E.U., others $65.99   Join the Team Shelby Club   click here to choose a Team Shelby Club subscription package.   Membership Kit Arrival   Your Team Shelby Club membership kit and I.D.card will generally arrive within 6-8 weeks.   Need Help?   Email Brianna:  e-mail her here.

  1. Hello all gt350 owners, I figured I would share a couple things that I have sourced for my 17 Shelby GT350 in the form of oil products. I have heard quite a few owners discussing oils for their 5.2 and did some digging of my own, and discovered a few items of interest. First off is, Joe gibbs 5w50 full synthetic. It is specifically for the coyote modular platform, and more specifically the boss 302 and 5.0 w/ heavy duty oil cooling option. I personally have tried it, and love the stuff with no issues to report. I don't believe mine had any oil consumption problem to speak of, but I figured it may be an option for those looking for alternatives. Second item is from silverhorse racing. They produce their own oil separators in house and do make a kit for the 5.0 coyote. I was only after the passenger side separator after finding out that was really the only pcv line to watch for excessive oil blow-by. Their kit is complete w/ pre bent plastic hose if you desire, or you can split the factory one and go that route. I used the pre-bent kit, and it fits well with the Shelby's slightly different setup. Just a couple things I figured I would share with everyone, and I will try to get some pics of the separator to show.
  2. Hello guys, my Shelby GT has almost ten years... It's not a daily driver, so It has only 15k miles. The car runs perfectelly but the uniques things I've changed since new were engine oil and filter once a year. Should I change other fluids like coolant, transmission, brakes, transmission, differencial, or filters like fuel, for example? Are there others components I shoud change?
  3. Hey All, Have recently purchased a set of Shelby Racing Valve Covers. They are gorgeous; however, the Black Moroso Oil Cap Provided is quite pathetic... And unfortunately my Shelby GT Billet Oil Cap, made to fit to the stock Mustang Oil Filler Tube will not fit onto the Aluminum Shelby Racing Valve Covers. Shelby Performance Parts currently does not have an Oil Cap that will fit onto these Valve Covers. My question is... Has anyone come across the Dodge CS Oil Caps, and know if they would fit the Shelby/Moroso Aluminum Racing Valve Covers? See attached pics Thanks for your help, James / Shelby GT 07
  4. There was a thread on a oil separator install for the Whipple supercharged Shelby GT's that I wanted to reply to but I thought it was only for Shelby brand separators. I installed this a few months back and purchased it before Shelby marketed their own. The Fittings are Parker brand. The system seems to work good. Oil does go into the catch container which I drain on occasion. I went this way because I liked the look of the stainless braided Teflon hoses. -Kevin

  6. I decided to look into some alternate fluids for my 07 GT500. I received a nice letter back from Royal Purple this morning with what they recommend for the 07 GT500. I am not affiliated with nor know anyone that is, nor have stock or any financial dealings with Royal Purple. This was purely solicited for my personal use. I'm simply sharing it with other members of 07 GT500s. I would strongly recommend that if you any other vehicle other than an '07, I would contact Jim and get the correct recommendations for your years and setup. I have also done the same with 2 other manufacturers, but have not heard back from them as of yet. I will post their reply when received. Good morning Sammy, Royal Purple Synchromax part #12512 is the full case of 12 quarts, where as part #01512, is the individual quart bottle of Synchromax. Same product, just different packaging. Synchromax is exactly what we recommend for your Tremec TR6060 6 speed manual transmission. It takes 3.7 quarts. Please see below for our full vehicle Royal Purple recommendations. Although we do not make a 5W-50 engine oil, we do however have several great functional oil recommendations for your 2007 Ford Shelby GT500 Mustang that are completely safe and a significant upgrade in performance and protection over the Ford/Motorcraft 5W-50. For those Shelby owners that warranty compliance is no longer an issue we recommend the following oils, which are listed in increasing levels of protection with the last one being appropriate for both bone stock cars with catalytic converters, or the most hard core highly modified 1,000+ rear wheel horsepower dedicated competition applications. Royal Purple SAE 5W-40 (part #01540, quart bottle)(for mostly street use stock or lightly modified cars) Royal Purple HPS 10W-40 (part #31140, quart bottle)(for mostly street use stock or highly modified cars) HPS: http://royalpurpleconsumer.com/product-categories/automotive/#!hps-motor-oil Royal Purple XPR 10W-40 (part #01041, quart bottle)(excellent for stock or extremely high boost gas and E85 cars that may have higher levels of fuel dilution)(street or dedicated race use) XPR: http://royalpurpleconsumer.com/product-categories/automotive/#!xpr-racing-oil We also recommend the following for your 2007 Shelby GT500: Engine Oil filter: Royal Purple Extended Life Synthetic Oil filter (part #20-820)(available at Pep Boys and from many online sellers) Manual Trans: Royal Purple Synchromax (part #01512, quart bottle); 3.7 quarts; Differential: Royal Purple Max Gear 75W-140 (part #01301, quart bottle); 2.1 quarts *(Includes limited slip friction modifier); Power Steering: Royal Purple Max EZ (part #01326, 12 oz bottle) or Royal Purple Max ATF (part #01320, quart bottle) The XPR oils are able to be special ordered at most local Advanced Auto, Napa, Carquest, and O’Reilly’s. It is also available online at Summit Racing, Jeg’s, lucky7trucks.com, Amazon.com or Pace Performance. Due to HPS being a relatively new product your local stores will likely not have HPS on the shelves. However a special order can be done at most local NAPAs and all O’Reilly’s in the USA. XPR and HPS are definitely available on line and shipping at the following performance outlets: Lucky7trucks.com: http://www.lucky7trucks.com/_e/dept/08-001-011/HPS_High_Performance_Street_Oil.htm Summit Racing: http://www.summitracing.com/search/?keyword=royal%20purple%20hps&dds=1 Pace Performance: http://paceperformance.com/c-241647-pace-super-stores-royal-purple-automotive-product-line-royal-purple-hps-street-motor-oil.html Jegs: http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/KeywordSearchCmd?storeId=10001&catalogId=10002&langId=-1&Ntk=all&Jnar=0&Ne=1%2B2%2B3%2B13%2B1147708&searchTerm=royal+purple+hps Amazon.com Web site- http://www.royalpurple.com/ FAQs- http://www.royalpurple.com/why-rp/faqs/ Locator- http://www.royalpurple.com/dealer-locator/ Thank you for choosing Royal Purple and have a great day! 7. Just curious, and not trying to enflame anyone or their beliefs, but has anyone used the new Castrol Edge with liquid titanium motor oil and any thoughts? Thank you
  8. 5w-50 Mobil1 Oil Analysis Back

hey guys, i know this is a slightly old topic, but i got back my used oil analysis from my 2011 gt500 running Mobil1 5w-50 and just so everyone knows, the car has two track days on this oil sample and about 3000 miles on it. i know some people think you cant get mobil1 5w-50, but you can get it here:(cheap as well i think) http://store.avlube....mobil15w50.html as time goes on, that oil should become slightly more available because the new supercar lexus LFA uses it, so maybe a future lexus dealer might have it? here is the results, from blackstone laboratories.
  9. I thought I read something a while back that for this vintage of car, you had to use the Motorcraft branded Conaco 5w50 oil to keep the warranty active though I could not find the post when I searched today. Is this true or has a TSB come up to allow other oils? The reason I bring this up is the "Change Oil" came up today (1725 miles on the car) and I called the local (or is it loco, you be the judge) Ford dealer. They quoted $70 for an oil change with Mobil 1 5w50. I also got pricing on parts alone and they want $10.68 / quart and $5.33 for a standard filter (this equal a total parts cost of over $80). How can they do this? A bulk tank of 5w50? Being an old wrench turner, I'm all for getting the break in oil out with all it's metallic particles even though it's low mile but am wondering what's the deal? A quick scan of the internet and Mobil 1 can be ordered for $8.45/ quart. TIA, MikeW
