Yikes! So Many Wrecked Shelby's!

Recommended Posts

I'm constantly looking on salvage auction websites for wrecked Shelby's. Here are the current ones that I see. Yikes! Hurts to see so many on them wrecked, but I guess that is the way it goes.😫

Shelby GTs currently up for Salvage Auctions

I thought that as well at first, but upon a further look, it appears to have a Shelby GT hood scoop, as well as the correct front and rear bumper fascia's, and the correct FR CAI and Strut brace. I think I can almost make out the tag on the radiator support bar as well, but the picture and damage prevents from a confirmation of that. That isn't to say that the prior owner didn't just make their own rendition of a Shelby GT with a custom paint scheme. I guess we will have to await Steven Thorton's comment.

Holy cow, I'm sorry some of those SGT were hideous and  deserve to be put out to pasture. I also don't believe the last one listed is a SGT, no CSM tags and has the stock airbox.

The white one with the black/red striping was the worst of the bunch....🤮

The black one with the gauge pod appears to be a California Edition by looking closely at the sill plates.

I can't believe the VB that rolled over without either airbag deploying! (I would love to get my hands on the passenger airbag cover to send it off to the foundation for an auto-pen and swap it with my actual autograph cover)

Yeah the last one is just a Mustang with highly desired parts. Probably parts from the CS6/8 body kits that were available for a while etc... Wouldn't mind getting ahold of its GT-H hood and CS6 bumper. The mustang is located relatively near me (4-ish hours away). Now if only I had the funds to purchase any or all of these cars and save them if possible. If not, salvage what I could off them. No matter what people say, these cars are a part of modern automotive history, and should be fixed if possible. Unfortunately these cars are only seen by the Insurance company's as just a Mustang, and not worth fixing or saving...

Did anyone catch the gauge pod in 33420560 ?

it’s rather a California Edition or has the now unatanium NA pod set installed.

I'd love to be able to get a KR hood off one of them, or get a steal on one and rebuild it.

It almost doesn't look like a real SGT. Got a regular GT air intake, no CSM tag.

Here's another SGT. Possibly another California Edition, but it is supercharged, so that may be the reason for the gauge pod. Sucks to see another gone, but glad to see it was obviously enjoyed, based upon the higher mileage (149k).

This one is BAD. Not sure the person got out of this one safely. Looks like it was Paxton supercharged. Its a 2008 VB SGT. VIN 1ZVHT82H585152752

Their hope of 25K is a pipe dream.  There's nothing left of it.   The passenger, if any, was a fatality.  No way anyone survived that.

Scary thing is that it doesn't appear the airbags went off. Almost looks like a Semi must have hit this thing.

I have worked a lot of wrecks in my career, this is as bad as they get.  Nothing left to rebuild or salvage 25K that is California Dreamig

Whatever it was was either very large (mass) or going very fast...

I think the driver side front wheel might be salvageable.    That's about all.

Amazingly, the hood scoop still looks like it is in pretty darn good shape....

I   believe  there were only 147 , 2008 coupe automatics built.  I have one of them. I   would  love  to  buy the hood with scoop,  and the powered by Ford badges just for display  in my  garage .
