Need ID Help

When and looked at this car 10 years ago and under the hood it has the Shelby tag, 10 years late looking at the car again and the tag is gone. i have the chance to buy the car now. making sure its a true GT-350 or not. Thanks for the help.

You'll have better luck getting a response on the SAAC forum. They focus on the early Shelby Mustangs.

Record the Ford VIN and send it to the SAAC 1965 Shelby registrar, Howard Pardee at: saachp@snet.net to verify the car.

Are those current or 10-year-old pics?  Al is correct about the SAAC forum - they are focused on that generation.

Does it still have the original engine and drive train?  Looks like engine and trans are missing from the car.

its out of the car, but its all matching numbers and there.

Current, not sure what its worth sitting like this. if its a true GT350 its going to be hard to pass up. it needs to be saved.

You could dump a whole lot of money.  There's rust everywhere.  These are not $1M cars.  You'll spend way more than you'll ever get for a restoration.   If you could get it for hauling it away you might have something that could become a daily driver but the guy selling it probably thinks it's going to fund his retirement program.

hes asking 10k, i was thinking half that.

I'd think half of that half...     Or what you could part it out at.

It will cost low six figures to bring back to life and could be worth it  if the new owner is able to put in a lot o the time and labor themselves and since if it is original and has the original drive train.  It will definitely be fu to enjoy when done.  Otherwise, buy it, clean it up and flip it to an interested party that would like to restore it.  😎

You need to send Ford VIN to Howard Pardee.

If it is too big of a project for you I would be interested.

Yeah, and from the sound of it this VIN (actually, the CSM number) lives on MANY GT350s. 

 

So once again, the advice to the OP is to contact the GT350 registrar WITH THE VEHICLE'S VIN.  They will verify if the car is/was a real GT350 (which seems doubtful now.)
