thanks!!

It's not as bad as one might think, since the snake is engraved.

The hardest part is prepping the red paint so the orange will stick.

Then at the right time during the drying process, using a wide, square end, x-acto blade, gently scrape (slice) away any paint on the silver.

Too wet makes a smear, too dry tends to lift the pint out of the depression.

It did take a couple of tries on the first one, but once you get a feel, it's pretty simple.

Needless to say,the dipstick was the hardest, ...it's so small.

It’s nice to see people still active with this forum!

Here are a few interesting facts about the GT-C’s. The earliest production car to leave Dearborn and be shipped to Las Vegas for its GT-C package was 08SGT0180, VIN 1ZVHT82H385100343, with an MSRP of $33,210. The latest production car to leave Dearborn and be shipped to Las Vegas for its GT-C package was 08SGT0086, VIN 1ZVHT82H985103859, with an MSRP of $33,210. The order of GT-C transformation does not match the order of factory production. My car, 08SGT0172, was the 145th in order of factory production. 08SGT0128 was the 97th in order of factory production.

I also found out that one of the four automatic GT-C’s was sold by its original owner, exported from LA, and imported to Thailand. It was one of the two cars with the Shaker 1000 Audio System. That car is 08SGT0181. To the best of my knowledge, the other automatic/Shaker 1000 car (08SGT0043) is still with its original owner in Nipomo, CA (last known to have 2,798 miles), and the other automatic/navigation car (08SGT0139) is with its second owner in Indio, CA (last known to have 28,807 miles). My automatic/navigation car (08SGT0172) is resting for the winter in Wisconsin, the coldest winter we’ve had, by the way, since 1976!

Hi ScottMadwi.....great post. Thank you for this......

So, you have one of the four Automatics. Wow, that is very cool. I always wondered who had them. I heard Wisconsin was having a very cold winter.....heard it from a guy I was sitting next to in the Memphis airport of all places....Global Warming....

Thanks! Your car, 08SGT0096, was the 41st produced by VIN. Interestingly, it was originally sold to the same dealer mine was, Chino Hills Ford. It is one of 102 produced with a manual transmission and a navigation system. I also have PDF files of all the GT-C window stickers from Ford. Your car had an MSRP of $33,210 from Ford.

I have all of the VIN’s and window stickers for the GT-C’s. I had just never sorted them to see how they match up with the actual SGT production numbers. I check the CarFax on the automatics from time to time to see where they are, and that is where I got the info on the automatics!

Dwain, I still think it would be great to meet with as many GO's together as possible in one place ----- we had talked about doing something in Texas ------ maybe you and a few others could come to the Shelby Show in June? I go every year......it's truly awesome. If we did this, we would all want to park together so let's see how this might shake out....

Dwain, I have done a few things to the car. Nothing performance wise. I installed chrome Razors, Had the stripes painted, which turned out really good, and added some things under the hood (Moroso radiator expansion tank,Shelby battery cover and brake reservoir cover. I also had the strut brace painted GO. I will post a picture when I figure out how to do it. I've tried a couple of times and failed. This car is actually my wifes ride. She really enjoys taking it to the track.
