The Obama Presidency - Here Comes Socialism

Recommended Posts

Keeping in mind that I'm a centrist:

I don't have double standards if that's what you mean. I don't expect perfection out of any politician, because that sets you up for disappointment when they inevitably demonstrate that they aren't perfect. What has bothered me is the hypocrisy of some of the liberal members on this forum, (and in this country for that matter), who have no problems with attacking the failures of anyone that doesn't agree with them while ignoring the failures of those that do agree with them. It bothers me enough to point it out.

I believe you just described human nature my friend................ ;)

But also remember the "Hipocracy" that spews from the conservative members here???????????

Yeah, if only they didn't decline those many offers to have Bin Laden delivered to them, 9-11 would have never happened.

Oh, wait! That was Clinton, wasn't it?

I absolutely believe that. John McCain made them aware of the coming housing crisis quite a while ago and they did nothing. My wife has a theory that there is a comet coming to hit us in 2012 and the politicians know it and are not telling us. She says they are acting so irrationally because they just don't care at this point (not that they ever did care).

You just hit the nail right on the head my friend. Unfortunately a lot of left wing people are just to naive to see it, or refuse to admit it.

Now Obama is saying that if we do not pass his stimulus bill we will have a catastophe. How he is trying to use scare tactics. Is this what you want to hear from the "chosen one" that is suppose to fix all of this. I don't. Have you heard all the crap that will not provide any jobs that are included in this bill. The Dems are using it to line their pockets. They could care less about the economy. Heard last night that the general support for this bill from the public has gone down to 30 some percent. What a crock. It will just get us into more debt.

Yeah, so I guess your suggestion is to just stick our heads in the sand and hope for the best! Sort of what we've been doing? The kind "head in the sand" stuff that got us into this situation?

Debt? We've still spent more on the Iraq war to the tune of over a trillion dollars and don't get me started on the loss of lives that are priceless.

You guys had your chance with a two term Republican President and for 6 of those years a Republican Congress...how'd that work out for us!?!? :jackinbox:

Hey...just sit back and enjoy the ride! We did!

:happy feet:

No not stick our heads in the sand but keep government out of free enterprise. If the big companies fail they fail. Either way it is not going to be peachy. How can you succeed if you never fail. The problem with society today is that everyone thinks they are entitled. They want to start at the top. Work ethics nowadays are appauling. If a comany fails because of poor bussiness practices, so be it. That gives somebody else the chance to come in and possibly do it right. That is what free enterprise is all about.

No ....actually it wasnt a head in the sand approach that got us into this mess....

it was deregulation of the banking industry championed by Captian Blowjob Bill Clinton.

the President who promised no scandals..............remember?

It is a constant source of amazement to me how when somebody points out that this bill is full of pork and wasteful spending, the left says "should we just do nothing?" and trots out the Iraq war as if it is somehow relevant. No we should not just do nothing but doing nothing would be far preferrable to passing this bill. We might however want to think about blowing over 1 trillion dollars before we do it. The Messiah is asking for this sham of a bill to be passed before anyone has even had a chance to sort it out or study its implications. Throwing this unmitigated piece of garbage at the senate and giving an arbitrary deadline for passage (by Presidents day) is irresponsible. The Messiah has basically shirked his responsibility in this matter by letting wild eyed Nancy Pelosi set the agenda and write this bill. Most of what is in this bill is NOT stimulative and will create few to NO jobs. It does not address the housing crisis. Moreover, the pork in this bill will become permanent fixtures in the budget and will need to either be funded at a later date or eliminated altogether. Go online and read the bill. The things in there will make you nauseous. I for one am tired of the fearmongering from Washington where they tell us this bill, which will create few if any jobs, is needed to create jobs. Just who do they think they are fooling? If you personally were having financial problems would you cut back on your spending or would you go out and buy a case of condoms, sod for your yard and a new computer? 'Nuff said.

I have a question??

Why is it going to take until 2010 to get the credit card companies to stop playing games with peoples credit/ credit limits and most of all increasing to 28.99% finance charges...but only takes a week to sign a $6,000,000 Bill to extend another 5 months for conversion to HD TV...

I'm trying to put money back into the economy, but I had to lay-off 8 people since Jan. 2008.. Hey, someone is already looking for

re election in 4 years...Washington is never going to change

Yeah, the whole digital transition extension irks me. For how long have we been hearing about this. It is all over the TV. They use the excuess that people need to stay informed to what is happening in the community. What did we do before TV. Heard of a radio. If people are not ready now, what makes them think they will be ready in a few months. Maybe it would be better off in these economic times to totally scrap the digital transition.

OK I'm done now.

Finally some good news that I think we can all agree on. This is long overdue.
