He wanted to create a club for people to truly enjoy their cars. He knew the world had changed, and he wanted his companies to meet the needs of the new generation of Shelby owners. His vision was to knit together those people with the owners of early Shelby's and give everyone fun new ways to experience their high performance vehicles.   Mr. Shelby imagined a place where owners could talk about their latest conquests at the track, swap stories, share photos and learn new ways to hot rod their cars! He wanted to link all of the enthusiasts into one "dream garage"... thus, Team Shelby was born!   Team Shelby has many free, open access forums, news sections and member only areas dedicated to the community.   In addition, Team Shelby has a full series of events for 2018, which include VIP Experiences, track days, National & Regional gatherings, cruises, car shows and more! Ownership of a Shelby is not required to be a member. The club is dedicated to serving all Shelby enthusiasts past and present including those that own cars built in the 1960's and Shelby Dodges too! My wife enjoys going to an event here and there if there is some travel involved. She enjoys meeting with Shelby friends and their spouses. She likes changing vehicles every couple of years herself, never getting attached to anything for long....and while she can drive a manual transmission she doesn't enjoy doing so. She buys me car mags every month and when she comes into my home office in the evening she most often sees me with car pics on the screen and has been known to comment "can't you get enough of that stuff?" I turn around and reply with a smile "nope"...she gives me a smile and takes away my empty Guinness glass... :shift:

My last post on this thread is just shy of two years ago now.

Respective of the topic..... Gina just figures it's a matter of time before it's "another" car. Well, this time she is directly involved in the purchase of our newest one. Her company car program is coming to an end with her company after 17 years. When her Volvo company lease is up next month (July), she will now only recieve a car allowance in lieu of the car and all that goes with it ....payment, insurance, gas, etc...

So in order for me to get the last car remaining on my bucket list, a new Challenger, she will take over driving my VW Tiguan. With that, I am leasing a '17 Challenger SXT (6cyl.) in Destroyer Grey. It has the Super Track Pack option. The color is pretty neat in person. Seems alot of car companies are doing a variation of grey nowadays...to include my Avalanche Grey GT350.

This is the only pic I have of the car for now. This is the ad pic from the stealer in Sandy Eggo. I will go pick it up sometime in the coming two weeks.

Again, I have been extremely blessed with a woman that LOVES my car passion!

Nice Dodge........the color looks almost like the new Gray that Ford has. A little darker than the Battleship Gray. Is it Metallic?

My wife talked me into buying a "much nicer" Mustang than the new 2010 GT we drove when they came out. She said buy whatever you want but it needs to be more "eye catching than this", this one is boring ! Go figure, so I found my 07, put a bunch of money into it, paid it off and now I have my 2013 GT500 which she wont drive since its " to much power and real loud". Maybe I should get another one LOL !!

Something I learned since my 2013 post. My wife will go with me to a car show IF.....The if ....is there something she can do there besides cars. So I have learned to take her to car shows that have live music, shopping and great food. Its been 40 some years and I finally figured it out. We both enjoy music , food and antiques. Its just my antiques are car related. We both sell on ebay as a hobby and hunt for treasures together. She now enjoys riding with me as long as Im not taking to many corners fast. But only to a car/ music/food/shopping event. Got to have all 4. They hold an event just like that once a month on the first Friday. Downtown canton they call it and its really  a social event.

Picture of my antiques. 30's 40's 50's and a few 60's.

Agree Mach 1. Much more enjoyable when there are additional attractions to the car event. Occasionally we hit the pure car event but unless it is a Cars and Coffee type show, the wife enjoys events with other activities.

Case in point. Went to a car show, craft show at a new micro brewery. Toured the brewery which was really cool. Craft show had great vendors and looked at some nice cars. We both enjoyed ourselves immensely.

Not only does my wife own the 2013 GT500 but also tracks with me at Miami/Homestead Speedway/Daytona International/Spring Mountain and Roebling Rd. We love going to the track, shows and all the friends along the way. We started with Chevelles 20 years ago but been nothing but Shelby for the last 10.

My wife Priscilla was easy when it came time to trade in the Roush Stage 3. I had two choices in mind.

1, 17 GTCS  (auto so she could enjoy driving a stang)

2, 17 GT350

She didn't miss a beat and said get the one with the Snake on it. She's wanted us to have a Shelby since she saw a silver with black striped 09 GT 500.

My wife likes the mistresses in the garage.  I get a Shelby with a stick and she gets a Mustang GT with auto.  There is vroom for both!
