Guys read the fine print, some of the rebates are only valid in certain states, like California, so you might not be able to get it. Also factor in the shipping to the price, you might still be saving, but not as much as you think... :banghead:

I would also say check the manufacture date. Are these tires now 4 years old?

+1, and they are probably older than 4. Doesn't necessarily mean they are unsafe, just that the Goodyear 'may' not honor the warranty.

For what its worth. Thats a good price but I think those are the older first generation Goodyear F1 Supercar tires. The newer G2 Goodyears have a pretty unique tread pattern compared to older G1s.

The older generation Goodyears never had a lot of good reviews as they were supposed to be noisy and kinda squirelly in wet conditions. However, It's still tempting for a hundred or so per tire.

Are these the KR tires with the wingfoot on them?

Did you get the $80 rebate?

That's what I want to know. Are they the real deal from the special run of KR tires Goodyear did, 5 years or so ago?

Do tires have actual date codes on them so that Puma1 can check and report back for everyone?

Yes they do have manufacture dates.

I went to the website and tried to do a search for tires by vehicle make, model, etc. It only offered 2007 and 2008 model years; even after hitting the "home" link. I'm not familiar with that site, but I find it unusual that other years aren't available even at regular pricing. Maybe they just handle closeouts?

Tire Rack has good info on a tires age and the concerns of older tires. General rule is to be causious with tires over 5 years old. There are many factors that play into how well a tire ages, such as the environment in which they are kept and the quality of tire when manufactured. I just replaced the spare on my wife's truck because it was 10yrs old. It had never been used, but it's not worth taking the chance.

This is,most likely, from the shelby warehouse that sold them a year or two ago.I bought two of them(yes they are wingfoot).kept them in a/c and put them on about a month ago, they are fine.Almost forgot paid 100 a piece then as well.

Just to answer a few questions.....

1.The 4 tires I received were manufactured in 2008.

2.The wing foot symbol is on every tire.

3.The tires have performed flawlessly thus far.

The website I ordered these tires from seems to be a ligit company.

Thanks.

The KR F1s have a dime size winged foot on the sidewall. They are a different compound (stickier) than the regular Goodyears.

I just gave them a call. The DOT on the tires is 2009 and they are not eligible for the $80 rebate......

So, how long are they good for?

The British Rubber Manufacturers Association (BRMA) recommended practice issued June, 2001, states "BRMA members strongly recommend that unused tyres should not be put into service if they are over six years old and that all tyres should be replaced ten years from the date of their manufacture."

So if they were made in 2009, should have some life left in them.

Unless they made a miracle comeback I wouldn't want Goodyears on any of my vehicles even if the tires were Free!

Goodyear tires are standard on the new GT350. Handles and drives fine to me. In fact, even Gary Patterson likes and recommends them.

Bro, the KR had a special improved grip Goodyear F1 Supercar version tire made especially for it. Regarding the KR:

".... The final step was to persuade the tire suppliers at Goodyear to find a new tread compound for the 18-in. Eagle F1 rubber. Actual wheel and tire sizes remain the same as on the Mustang GT500, at 255/45ZR18 front and 285/40ZR-18 rear, but a small winged-foot emblem on the sidewall signals the stickier formulation, along with a lower wear rating.
