3.73's anybody???

Recommended Posts

Still learning my 2013, but cant imagine needing a shorter gear. It launches like a rocket already with the stock 3.31. Maybe 3.55, but at 3.73 I'd thing you would have to love shifting quickly and often.

Got my done....the pull in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, is brutal... Still launches and hooks up well if the tires and road are at the right temp. I love it plus the gear is better on the clutch. I used FRPP 3.73s...

It will make your speedo off... Ford can't correct it... Only an aftermarket tuner can.

I agree think this is exactly what this car needs IMO...I found 3rd and 4th gear pull lagged a bit with the the 3:31's..and like you say is way easier

on the clutch in 1st.

Thanks for weighing in. Any regrets going 3.73 instead of 3.55? Top speed is inconsequential to me (speed limited 'vert- and I live in America...how often am I really going to hit 155?), I just want to best balance between pull and "cruisablity".

I love the clutch saving aspect of the gear change, great point!

3.55's are a great choice. I want to change mine out and havent got around to it yet. It would save a lot of clutches ifg it had come from ford that way. Can't figure out why they had 3.31's unless it was for fuel mileage. We still paided a gas guzzler tax of $1,300

I put in 3.73s and love it. It makes up for the 2.66 1st gear. Got a tune from JDM to correct the speedo and add some hp and fuel economy. Not that I give a sh*t about fuel economy.

Hey guys, newbie question- if you use a ford racing rear gear(I assume that's what everyone is doing right?), is it still covered by the warranty?

No. Unless the dealer installs it and states they are going to cover you.
