Shelby Group II Race Car Document Accuracy?

Recommended Posts

Hey all, found these documents online for the Shelby Group II Racer and was wondering if anyone knows if these documents are accurate or not? Don't really want to start changing things if they aren't accurate! Any input is greatly appreciated!!!

These appear to be accurate for 1967 model year. The fuel tank was carried over from 1965/66 which was 2 bottom halves welded together which a "H" pattern plate internally along with a pop open cap and splash bucket on top which some cars got a change in 67 to a center mount extended mount for fuel filling without having to open the trunk . The hole on the top half for where the tank sender goes was covered with a rounded plate welded over the hole . The diff and trans coolers were mounted on the passenger side floor and the lines were run back into the trunk where the pumps were is correct . 1968 Trans Am cars were different in a couple of ways including cars with 4 wheel disc brakes , larger flares , and of course the attempt of using a tunnel port 302 engine with dual quads . 1967 was the last year of the "K" coupe and "K" code HIPO 289 motor and was the year that split the use of a single piece steering shaft to a split column shaft using a rag joint at the steering box .
