2015 Ford Mustang Ecoboost Loses Big Power On 87 Octane

This is probably not too surprising, but came across this article last night....

 

I believe my 2013 5.0 is 420 hp on 90 octane and 408 on 87 octane; a loss of 12 hp. The ecoboost looses quite a bit more!

Stands to reason that an ecoboost system running a turbocharger for power would lose a lot of power when you lower the grade of fuel.

Still, 11.3% is pretty astounding.

That's why they give you the Horse Power ratings on all 3 Grades of Gas now.  I even think it is in most Owner manuals.  It started several Years ago.
