underhood Question

Recommended Posts

I was detailing under the hood of my hertz convertible today and saw this on the passenger side shock tower. These bolt holes are on the front of the tower, facing the grille.

Does anyone have any idea what these are for?

All Mustangs have those bolt holes but I've only seen GT500's with something bolted to them.

It is mounting points for HID Headlamp relays.

The relays for the HIDs and fuel pump on the GT500s are mounted there. That's why for most decorative fuse box covers there is a different part number for a GT500 vs other Mustangs because it won't clear those relays.

My 08 Shelby SGT-C has the relays there as well.
