Has the Bullitt Mustang Been Found?

Recommended Posts

There were two. One was bought by an employee of the studio with whereabouts known (east coast somewhere, sheltered from view but verified), the other supposedly destroyed. Is this the one that was supposedly destroyed? Both cars are not in anything near "show quality". Both were heavily modified for cameras in the rear seat and on the rear quarter.

I heard the owner of the real Bullitt is a real D so why own the car if you are going to hide it away in a garage

If you check out Wolfgangs German Musang site, and specifically the Bullitt page, it's been verified by Kevin Marti and the car is now back in the US and going to be restored as it should be instead of being another Eleanor.

The article on The Drive is now the 4th that I know of that is a completely bogus article (and I think lifted from one of the MSN articles). Fake news runs rampant. Hot Rod has a legit story with pictures. The thread at VMF was 22 pages yesterday, it ran the gamut from amazement to 'gotta be a fake'. it was an interesting read last week when it got revealed. Wild that what some would consider a major car story to be started on a message board, but that's where it started.

Lets see, replaced the hood and most of the sheet metal panels and floors. Drivetrain may be replaced as well. But it has the VIN plate. Sounds like the collector with George Washington's legendary axe that he used to cut down a cherry tree. The head had been replaced after someone used it on a rock. Then another subsequent owner had to replace the broken wooden handle. But it is still the "original" axe. Right!

So many cynics. If one of you had tripped over this find you would be the first to cry it's real.....even if it had only one original fender with a VIN that was attached to a completely replaced car.....
