He wanted to create a club for people to truly enjoy their cars. He knew the world had changed, and he wanted his companies to meet the needs of the new generation of Shelby owners. His vision was to knit together those people with the owners of early Shelby's and give everyone fun new ways to experience their high performance vehicles.   Mr. Shelby imagined a place where owners could talk about their latest conquests at the track, swap stories, share photos and learn new ways to hot rod their cars! He wanted to link all of the enthusiasts into one "dream garage"... thus, Team Shelby was born!   Team Shelby has many free, open access forums, news sections and member only areas dedicated to the community.   In addition, Team Shelby has a full series of events for 2018, which include VIP Experiences, track days, National & Regional gatherings, cruises, car shows and more! Ownership of a Shelby is not required to be a member. The club is dedicated to serving all Shelby enthusiasts past and present including those that own cars built in the 1960's and Shelby Dodges too! Carroll Shelby (Team Shelby Member #001) said: "We built Team Shelby for anyone who is passionate about Shelby cars! We’ll have a blast and we'll do it the Shelby way!   Yearly Membership Rates   U.S. $49.99 | Canada & Mexico $59.99 | E.U., others $65.99   Join the Team Shelby Club   click here to choose a Team Shelby Club subscription package.   Membership Kit Arrival   Your Team Shelby Club membership kit and I.D.card will generally arrive within 6-8 weeks.   Need Help?   Email Brianna:  e-mail her here.

8th Annual “Snakes at the Lake” Tahoe Cruise – Saturday June 24, 2017

Recommended Posts

TeamShelby_TahoeVista8th_zpszpip8zzy.png

With summer just over 2 short months away, it’s time to post-up notice of “Snakes at the Lake” – 2017, which is scheduled for Saturday, June 24th. As in years past, our current plan has us departing Old Town Sacramento and cruising up Highway 50 through the Sierras as we make our way to the lake. We’ll stop briefly for fuel and a rest break at the Chevron station in Meyers and stage at the golf course parking lot across the way where members from Nevada will meet us. Then we’ll head up scenic Highway 89 on the west side of the lake past Emerald Bay, the Rubicon and Sunnyside areas towards Tahoe Vista on the north shore, where we’re making arrangements again for a relaxing day enjoying a BBQ and Car Show.

For a glimpse of a previous SATL, check out Jason’s great pictures here: http://photos.nowplaying.tv/Lifein2013/2013-Snakes-at-the-Lake/i-nsF3dbr

RSVP’s and pre-payment are required for this event so we can anticipate required parking and determine how many meals will be needed. Please use the GoFundMe link below to facilitate this transaction. When your payment is confirmed, this will be noted on the roster below. After accounting for expenses, any funds left over will be donated to the Carroll Shelby Foundation http://www.shelby.com/?topic=csf so any extra donations are welcomed ;-)

Cost for attending the event is:

$40 per driver/vehicle, which includes NTPUD facility rental and parking fee, BBQ lunch and cold refreshments.

$10 for each additional guest to cover BBQ lunch and cold refreshments.

Payment Link: https://www.gofundme.com/8th-annual-snakes-at-the-lake Reservations are requested by no later than Sunday June 18th. This event is rain or shine and payments are non-refundable. Thanks!

So mark your calendars and post-up if you’re interested in joining us for a great day on the road and at the lake with other “Powered by Ford” enthusiasts.

Note: For ease of editing, I’ll maintain the list of SATL-8 attendees in Post #2 immediately below.

Here’s the address where we’ll be meeting in Old Town Sac. Front and 101 K Streets, Sacramento, CA 95814 Let’s plan on arriving around 8:00am and we’ll head out about 8:30am. Note: We’ll be at Steamers on the corner to process your registrations (and get a morning caffeine fix ;-)

Bruce,

You and Mike are always in the top 5 - and I appreciate the continued support the early responders provide!

What new Mustang do you have your eye on now that your GHIG Boss 302 bolted from the corral?

Best,

Jim

Always the highlight of the summer!

Les,

I have you, April and the the Red Rocket crew down!

This year I want to get a Red, White and Blue pic of your GT500's lakeside - we just need a volunteer for the White slot.

Here's a :camera: of the Red Rocket at Donner Lake on a previous trip...

Best,

Jim

Stay for a few more weeks and join us for SATL-8.

You'll already be 5 minutes from Nevada and home in another 2 days at the speed of sound Shelby...

Al,

You can join us in Concord for the start of the day and drive up I-80 to Old Town Sacramento where we meet up with most of the attendees.

We then head out on Hwy 50 towards the Sierras. After stopping briefly for fuel and a rest break in South Lake Tahoe, we depart for the north shore via Hwy 89 and our destination in Tahoe Vista.

That's when we kick back and enjoy a great BBQ and car show with other Shelby and Blue Oval enthusiasts.

You can spend a few days in the Bay Area (perhaps Fisherman's Wharf in SF?) before the cruise and then make a weekend or week of it in Lake Tahoe before returning to Medford.

Any question, just ask. Hope you 2 can join us!

Best,

Jim

Is there a head count for people staying at the Ritz Carlton?

fiveliter50,

We'll be meeting at Sears SunValley on Saturday June 24th as seen here: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Willow+Pass+Rd,+Concord,+CA/@37.9651931,-122.0598124,438m/data=

Conga line to OTS details will follow in mid-June. Too early yet for a Ritz head count.

Best,

Jim

Just hit the GoFundMe site - Looking forward to it, still negotiating with the snake in the garage, we've come to a working arrangement, I don't ask it to do stupid things with the throttle and it won't go sideways on me!

Stu,

Welcome to Team Shelby - Pacific Coast Region and your first Snakes at the Lake! You and your GT500 will be in good company.

We have a great time - but discourage letting the Snakes go "off road" :shift: . We leave those excursions for the Raptor clubs  .

See you on June 24th!

Best,

Jim
