He wanted to create a club for people to truly enjoy their cars. He knew the world had changed, and he wanted his companies to meet the needs of the new generation of Shelby owners. His vision was to knit together those people with the owners of early Shelby's and give everyone fun new ways to experience their high performance vehicles.   Mr. Shelby imagined a place where owners could talk about their latest conquests at the track, swap stories, share photos and learn new ways to hot rod their cars! He wanted to link all of the enthusiasts into one "dream garage"... thus, Team Shelby was born!   Team Shelby has many free, open access forums, news sections and member only areas dedicated to the community.   In addition, Team Shelby has a full series of events for 2019, which include VIP Experiences, track days, National & Regional gatherings, cruises, car shows and more! Ownership of a Shelby is not required to be a member. The club is dedicated to serving all Shelby enthusiasts past and present including those that own cars built in the 1960's and Shelby Dodges too! I debated getting CHKN FMR as my vanity plate on the GT500. My wife said no one would understand it. I told her only true Shelby fans would figure it out.

Maybe I'll put it on my next Shelby.

Did you follow up with a serious answer? You may have had the opportunity to educate someone that has a genuine interest in the cars. We need all the new buyers we can get!

EDIT after he read the link he said "Oh he recently died" and "it doesn't say anything about him being a chicken farmer..... oh yes it does, sorry I missed it" :hysterical:

Love it, and original..doubt anyone else has it, and you're right, "we'd" all know what it meant

Was at a car show with my 08KR, and this guy with his "posse" walks by, and says to his crew, "KR, that's the Knight Rider Edition" . I was about to take him to school, and thought...I don't have the energy for these snowflakes today...lol

I had the SGT out last week....parked in sight of the front windows at KINKOS. I was having some pics printed and a few other odds and ends scanned and emailed.

The guy behind the counter helping me, may have been 30(?) ....I’m horrible with judging age today.

Anyway, I was having an 8”x10” glossy printed of my Saleen Gurney, to frame for the orig owner of the car as a Xmas gift, and he asked what that car was. He knew it was a Mustang, but admittedly had no idea what it was. I told him it was a 2008 Saleen Dan Gurney tribute car.... 1 of only 38 made. He looked like a deer in headlights at me, but said, “cool”. Then he asked if I was a Mustang guy. I told him yes, I have four of them. Then I pointed outside at the SGT and told him that one was mine too. His response ...... “NICE, a Shelby GT!” I was shocked. He recognized the car from 100 yards away.

You just never know. I can drive the car for days and never get as much as a second look in traffic, and on other days have three people gimme
