He wanted to create a club for people to truly enjoy their cars. He knew the world had changed, and he wanted his companies to meet the needs of the new generation of Shelby owners. His vision was to knit together those people with the owners of early Shelby's and give everyone fun new ways to experience their high performance vehicles.   Mr. Shelby imagined a place where owners could talk about their latest conquests at the track, swap stories, share photos and learn new ways to hot rod their cars! He wanted to link all of the enthusiasts into one "dream garage"... thus, Team Shelby was born!   Team Shelby has many free, open access forums, news sections and member only areas dedicated to the community.   In addition, Team Shelby has a full series of events for 2018, which include VIP Experiences, track days, National & Regional gatherings, cruises, car shows and more! Ownership of a Shelby is not required to be a member. The club is dedicated to serving all Shelby enthusiasts past and present including those that own cars built in the 1960's and Shelby Dodges too! Number of Super Snakes Built

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have the breakdown by year (2015, 2016 and 2017) of the number of Super Snakes built? I just took delivery of 17SS0018 this week. However, I do not believe this equates to the number built in 2017.

There are no Super Snake build numbers available as all model year SS programs are still open and building cars as we speak, including the 2017. All we can tell you at this time is the 2017 SS production is capped at 500 units.

Y'all may not have final build numbers yet, but you could tell us how many you have built so far...if you wanted to

As we are all aware Shelby International Inc. does not provide delivery numbers until the termination of the respective build. However, I was at Shelby earlier this week and the current run of Super Snakes is getting a tremendous boost in deliveries. 125 new Super Snakes will be made available at retail Ford dealerships around the country. There is a massive push to get these completed and out to the dealerships (thus delaying my Terlingua build #11). The first deliveries should be arriving in showrooms in the next few weeks. I do not know which dealers around the country will be receiving these but the sticker price according to a resource will be $101,000. I have no doubt the dealers will be adding a premium to the sticker. Similar to what some dealers have been adding to the GT350's.

The limited run of 300 Super Snakes will not change due to these earmarked retail vehicles, there will still only be 300, however; this business model and delivery should bolster a the recent weak financials that Shelby has been suffering through for the last several years. In my opinion I am in favor of reestablishing Shelby as the preeminent upgrader of Mustang and other Ford product lines with hopes that with a better financial outlook the management will promote and develop the racing franchise of Shelby once again. Shelby's racing heritage is, once again in my opinion, the best way to promote and drive sales and prolongation of these amazing vehicles.

I would love to know what other Shelby enthusiasts think about expanding the retail availability of limited run Shelby models.

They may add an ADM, but few if any will get it. The GTE's on dealer lots are discounted, why would anyone pay over $100K for an SS when they can get a Terlingua for that? I am not sure how you get an SS to $100K, must have every option available.

It does make sense that Shelby is selling many to dealers though, it is more then likely the only way to sell the 300 allotment.

I am looking forward to seeing what comes next from Ford to battle the ZL1 and Hellcat. If I were in the market today a 2017 GT350 or possibly one of the 2014 SAI Built GT350's on dealer lots would be the direction I would take.

Good time to be into Muscle Cars, there are plenty to choose from!!!!

Correct me if I`am wrong but I thought the SS was priced at $70k now because they use the G.T model .

You are about right if it is a very basic model Super Snake, but as soon as you add a few options it doesn't take much to get the price to $100k+
