He wanted to create a club for people to truly enjoy their cars. He knew the world had changed, and he wanted his companies to meet the needs of the new generation of Shelby owners. His vision was to knit together those people with the owners of early Shelby's and give everyone fun new ways to experience their high performance vehicles.   Mr. Shelby imagined a place where owners could talk about their latest conquests at the track, swap stories, share photos and learn new ways to hot rod their cars! He wanted to link all of the enthusiasts into one "dream garage"... thus, Team Shelby was born!   Team Shelby has many free, open access forums, news sections and member only areas dedicated to the community.   In addition, Team Shelby has a full series of events for 2018, which include VIP Experiences, track days, National & Regional gatherings, cruises, car shows and more! TS-PCR Holiday Charity Cruise & Lunch / S.F. Bay Area / Saturday 12-9-17

Recommended Posts

Post up if you're interested in joining us for our annual Team Shelby – Pacific Coast Region Christmas cruise. We’ve done this run for the past several years and had a great time. Our planned route is a 46 mile run from Saratoga to the Half Moon Bay area for lunch at the popular Moss Beach Distillery https://www.mossbeachdistillery.com/ This event will again include a stop at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford to drop off toys, gift cards or donations. Join us for a great cause and what will most likely be the last local cruise of the season. Although we're hoping for a normal rainy season, keep your fingers crossed for fair weather on December 9th as the event is rain or shine.

For ease of editing, I’ll maintain the roster of members attending in post #2 below. For an accurate head count, please note if you are +1, +2 and so on. See you then!

Jim

Here is where we'll be meeting in Saratoga. Let's plan on arriving around 9:30am and we'll head out at 10:00am.

14400 Big Basin Way, Saratoga, CA 95070 (behind the 76 Gas Station). There's a Starbucks across the street!

Here are the Google satellite and street view images of this location:

Hi Jim,

Thanks for setting this up for the kids. I am still recovering from a torn Achilles Tendon, so I cannot drive the stick. However, Renee and I would like to support this event with a gift card from Toys R Us. Is there an address we can mail our gift to?

Have a great and safe Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas,

Renee and Mike Hempel

I'm in! I've got a sack full of die cast Shelby's to donate to the kids.

Andy,

Great to have you with us again this year.

Hopefully the weather cooperates and you can deliver that sack of die cast Shelby's in an open sleigh!

See you on Saturday 12/9 in Saratoga.

Best,

Jim

Mike,

We hope you are well on your way to getting back in your GT500.

However, if you are up for it and have another vehicle with an automatic, please consider joining us for the day, crutches and all. It wouldn't be the same without you and Renee.

On another note, I hope you 2 along with family and friends were not directly affected by the fires in Santa Rosa. Absolutely devastating...

Best,

Jim

Les,

I have you, April and Sheldon penciled in above along with a few other enthusiasts who emailed me.

Can't wait to get a picture of your new Super Snake parked in the roundabout at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford.

See you in Saratoga on 12/9!

Best,

Jim

Stu,

Welcome aboard!

We're looking forward to having you 2 with us for our annual charity cruise.

This will be our first time at the Moss Beach Distillery (the HMBBC will be closed for renovations), but it comes highly recommended and has a great view of the ocean.

See you in Saratoga on 12/9.

Best,

Jim

Its another of our favorites over there. If memory serves though their parking lot can fill up some days due to the phenomenal views down there attracting tourists.

Thank you Jim for the offer. The injury is to my right Achilles Tendon . So unless it is an emergency, I'm should not drive. Besides neither our diesel pickup or Renee's Eco Boost Escape will keep up with the Shelby's. :)

Our two boys and my younger sister had to be evacuated. The boys were camping out in our home and my sister had to move in with her son. We were 1 mile south of the evacuation area. Got to breathe smoke until the fires were put out. Some of the hot ash came down and burned the leaves on our landscape. Dennis our friend with the BOSS 302. The fire was within two or three blocks of his home. He was very lucky that the fire missed his home. Here is a link to the video shot by a reporter from the Press Democrat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7Udu6hh-9U I was told that the wind was driving the fire on the first night at a speed of 100 yards every three seconds.

Brad,

I have you and Denise penciled in above and hopefully her schedule allows Mrs. SC to come along!

I wonder if LAB will have a report for Santa this year about his GB WB GT350 Vert???

Best,

Jim

Les,

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll talk with Bev at MBD and see if they can cordon off some of their parking lot for TS-PCR. Hopefully we get lucky.

Best,

Jim

Mike,

Roger that regarding your right lower leg! One of my co-workers went through the same injury several years ago, and it does take time to heal.

The YouTube link above is just amazing. If there ever was a "hell on earth", that fire is certainly in the running!

I'm glad your family, friends and Dennis all made it through the fire without personal loss. So many others lost so much.

Best,

Jim

Jim, the relatives are coming but I will still be coming. Keep me at +1, I will see if my grandson can come and let you know asap. Funny reviewing the LAB Santa letter again. I love his new GT350 WB but now I wouldn't be able to use the line in the letter about needing more horsepower!! See you on the 9th. Brad

Hi Jim,

I'd like to attend, but at this point I'm not sure if I can make it. Is there a deadline for sign-up and what do we bring (gifts, toys, etc.)?

Thanks,

Erwin

Erwin,

There's no deadline to sign-up other than to provide MBD with an expected head count for lunch.

Let's do this, I'll pencil you in above and if you can make it that's great, if not, that's OK too.

Lucille Packard Children's hospital appreciates everything Team Shelby does for their young patients.

They do encourage gift cards to places like Toys"R"Us so they can shop for individual children's specific needs/requests.

Hope you can join us on Saturday December 9th in Saratoga. Try to let me know by 12/7.

Best,

Jim

Hi Jim,

Dennis and Carol are going to attend. So Mona's BOSS +1.

Mike,

That's great news! I'll add Mona's BOSS +1 above.

Dennis is welcome to meet me in Concord at SunValley for the start of the conga line to the South Bay.

More details on that in a couple of weeks.

Best,

Jim
