He wanted to create a club for people to truly enjoy their cars. He knew the world had changed, and he wanted his companies to meet the needs of the new generation of Shelby owners. His vision was to knit together those people with the owners of early Shelby's and give everyone fun new ways to experience their high performance vehicles.   Mr. Shelby imagined a place where owners could talk about their latest conquests at the track, swap stories, share photos and learn new ways to hot rod their cars! He wanted to link all of the enthusiasts into one "dream garage"... thus, Team Shelby was born!   Team Shelby has many free, open access forums, news sections and member only areas dedicated to the community.   In addition, Team Shelby has a full series of events for 2018, which include VIP Experiences, track days, National & Regional gatherings, cruises, car shows and more! Ownership of a Shelby is not required to be a member. The club is dedicated to serving all Shelby enthusiasts past and present including those that own cars built in the 1960's and Shelby Dodges too! You think I'm not relaxed?....you'd be wrong AGAIN!!!!….:hysterical:…..You have a nice day also Webster!!…..

Name calling, very nice, the first resort of someone who doesn’t have a valid position in a discussion. The article was about investments, not whether you would drink it yourself or not. Investing in rare fermentations, art, cars, stamps, coins and other collectibles is a wise way to build wealth. Your comment was like saying…… wow,  I would never pay 1 million for a stamp , why?. Because I don’t like to lick stamps…….

OK, $1.1 Million for a Bottle of old Whisky, even if you put it away and never touched it, wouldn't the Value of it cap out or maybe even start to drop at some point?  Because it stops aging once it is out of the Barrel.

It depends on how you define “ageing”. The barrel ageing is due to temperature and atmospheric pressure changes that force the whiskey back and forth into the lining of the oak barrels to impart flavor. Once it is bottled the ageing process stops…..until you open the bottle, then temperature and atmospheric changes will affect the flavor, mainly through oxidation which can make a whiskey turn bitter….which some people like and some people don’t. I would venture to say that whoever bought the 1.1 million dollar bottle would probably in order to best reap a return .......would be to leave it unopened. Like any other collectible it can go up and down in value depending on the economy, supply/demand. If he/she “pops the top” then it is probably best they go ahead and consume it with some of his fellow billionaire friends………

well, if you want to dance with the rich, you have to pay the premium.....what did you expect a billionaire to do, break up the set and sit around and sell it on Ebay piece by piece? There is a reason for the saying "the rich get richer". They know the value of a service provided and they know how to value  their time.

Good point. I have my old HotWheels/Matchbox collection that I should sell complete rather than piece by piece.

My Hot Wheels wouldn't be worth anything, cuz mine were played with, and played with hard.  If only I could see my younger self and give him some tips on investments, I could retire before I'm dead and buried.
