He wanted to create a club for people to truly enjoy their cars. He knew the world had changed, and he wanted his companies to meet the needs of the new generation of Shelby owners. His vision was to knit together those people with the owners of early Shelby's and give everyone fun new ways to experience their high performance vehicles.   Mr. Shelby imagined a place where owners could talk about their latest conquests at the track, swap stories, share photos and learn new ways to hot rod their cars! He wanted to link all of the enthusiasts into one "dream garage"... thus, Team Shelby was born!   Team Shelby has many free, open access forums, news sections and member only areas dedicated to the community.   In addition, Team Shelby has a full series of events for 2018, which include VIP Experiences, track days, National & Regional gatherings, cruises, car shows and more! Ownership of a Shelby is not required to be a member. The club is dedicated to serving all Shelby enthusiasts past and present including those that own cars built in the 1960's and Shelby Dodges too! Most of you won't know me.

For several years I haven't gotten on here very much. Nothing personnel against anyone I used to really enjoy the forums.  Just a lot has happened over the years and I rarely get much time,

I was here during the excitement of the 2007 GT 500 being developed and the huge anticipation we all had as we couldn't wait to get one.

I did at only 5K over at a time when some were still paying 15K,  and 50 miles away in the color I wanted.  Believe it or not it was a daily driver.  commute to Orlando every third day.

I sold it as it was killing me on gas,  Aside from Procharger, I believe I was the first one to supercharge a 2011 V6 Performance package car,  Did some mods butJustin could only tune it up to 434 at the wheels. great car and handled much better than the 500 but I missed the torque.

Then they brought back the Boss,  Having owned 2- 70 Bosses and a 428 Mach one. I couldn't resist, as the plan was to supercharge that.   Justin has made some stupid power out of the new 5.0 engine. So I bought a gold one.

Well,  then I got divorced,  So it made sense to keep the 2012 F150 as I have a boat and also buy and sell pontoon boats my friend and I have been restoring for 3 years,  One a month usually and we just sold number 50.

Anyway. I kept the house and shop and retired from the fire department after 35 years.

So I bought the 2011 GT500 with 16K miles on it and enjoy riding once again.

I bought the 2008 GT wrecked with only 26K miles on it.  Had a shop do the quarter panel as I didn't have time and I finished the rest.

I used to own a body shop and have done many high end restorations so it was only money and time. $1500 in paint materials alone. OUCH red is pricey,   I use the good stuff so that hurts a bit.

I tried to mimic the 69 Boss 302 a bit but incorporated the shaker so its kind of unique.

So thats the update, is anybody from 2006 still around and ok?

Scott

Hey Scott! I don't get on here anymore either but I get notifications of posts via email and saw yours. I am still around but had to reprioritize things in life to make more time for family and career. I have moved my family across country six years ago to Portland OR and then again to Seattle WA where we plan to stay. I pulled out of all the car club activities like the MCA board of directors and Team Shelby and started a consulting business.  It really got to be too much time spent on club stuff and all the politics that goes on in volunteer orgs that I needed to get away from for a while.

Car wise i still have my black 07 GT500 vert with 32k miles and occasionally i look for another Mustang. My family has diversified a bit as we now have a 2011 Camaro 2SRSS black vert and a 2015 black z51 Corvette. My son is starting college and wants a Challenger so i guess we are totally dysfunctional brand wise.  My Shelby is still my love and i still say i am a Mustang guy at heart though. Occasionally I pull up the old pics of events and pine for the days of the S197 Owners Association (pre Team Shelby) and the original Shelby Bashes. The run from the Peterson Museum to Vegas at that first bath was very fun! I wonder what happened to the aerial helicopter video footage that I thought was happening? I would love to see it! Also many great friendships made during those years!

Been around since 2007.  I think it was Mustang unleashed or similar.  Glad you made it through your career. I also retired after 30 years with the FD.  Car looks great.

Hey Scott, congratulations on your retirement from the "grind" ;) and your great 35 year run at the fire department.  Nice cars you have, you'll have extra tie to enjoy them so give'er.

I've been around Team Shelby since early  2008 and still hang out regularly.  Owned a 08 GT 5000 for awhile and still own my 07 GT-H.  My GT-H enthusiasm and collection is still going strong.
