Remove Plastic Radiator Cover

Recommended Posts

Is there a trick to removing the radiator cover on our GT-H/SGTs?  I removed the 6 plastic push pins but the 2 hood pin rods are preventing the cover from lifting off, whats the trick or do I need to remove the grill

Disregard, I got it, its fairly flexible  and slightly bending it and using the plastic pin removal tool helps

Remove 6 pins. Push the cover towards the engine to release from the upper grille "grove", lift pull back and slide forward from under the hood pin plates.

Thanks, I did get it off.  I actually had to use a plastic pin removal tool and slide it between the grill the cover to get it to release from the grill and then pull it forward to get the opening area Shelby cut to clear the pin towers.

The cover on my GT-H was harder to remove than my 2007 SGT. I swear the hood pin cut outs on the cover were a little smaller on the GT-H, so I experienced what you did last winter when I swapped out my grille.

Very well could be. SAI has a tool that "punches" out those slots and I suspect that tool came about with the increased production numbers for 2007-08 and was not around for the first builds in 2006.

Agree, the cut out are kinda crude on the 06 GT-Hs that made it a slight challenge.  That said thanks
