Valve cover signatures

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody, I just recently bought a ‘19 GT350R and noticed that there is only one signature stamped on the valve cover. I thought these engines were built by 2 man teams. Does anybody else have only 1 signature?

I believe they changed it to a one man/woman build on these engines for 2019

Must be something new as there is an Ford NXT article at the start of the 2019 GT350 production claiming and showing a two person team building the 5.2 voodo.

Ford previously claimed that a two person team produced a better product as there were two sets of eyes checking each others work. Hope this change doesn't mean lesser quality.

Wonder if the change has anything to do with the 2020 GT500? Could the increase in the number of engine builds needed out of the engine shop be the reason from going from a 2 person team to just a single person? Half of them building Voodoo and the other half building Predators?

Looks like my suspicions were correct, not enough Niche line engine builders to stay with a two person team with the new Predator engine added to the workload.

Interesting Hot Rod article below. But raises all kinds of questions on the Predator engine. For example if the oil pan needs a special alignment jig for installation lets hope the dealer never needs to drop the oil pan. This is just a guess on my part but its looking like Ford will have dealers swap engines rather than open the engine up.

Yeah I forget where I saw the article. It was a behind the scenes type report. Said they no longer did a 2 person build on the voodoo engine
